Re: Yemen struggles against multiple challenges
Yemen has been on the radar for a few years now. They face some serious challenges, and many in key positions within the government, the military, and law enforcement support radical Islamic ideas. Muslim countries generally have extraordinary networks setup to know what is going on, and who is in their country. There has to be a least a small amount of official support at some level, usually multiple levels, for global terrorism to gain a foothold.
I don't think they have a chance in hell of righting the ship. Yemen will simply continue down the road they have been on, becoming less of a backwater hideout for radical Islam and more of a key base of operations and support.
