Installation Confusion

Heres the story:

Every time I try to enter a battle from the campaign map, I get the "error noise" and the screen stays black with the rotating hourglass.

I have to reset my PC to kill the program. I have Windows XP, and my computer can easily run the game. It had been working before I installed some submods. I have Kingdoms installed, but not the Kingdoms update.

Installation:
- deleted Stainless_Steel_6 folder from \Medieval II Total War\mods
- installed SS 6.0 Parts 1 & 2
- installed SS 6.1 patch with BGRIII ONLY
- installed data.zip from here: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=106060
- installed RR + SSTC from the May 29th update here: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=162997

I have done the installation process twice, but every time I try to load a battle (enemy sallying or me attacking), it crashes.

I'm playing as Aragon, and custom battle as Aragon works just fine.

What the hell am I doing wrong??

Well, I fixed my problem and here's how:

- deleted Stainless_Steel_6 folder from \Medieval II Total War\mods
- installed SS 6.0 Parts 1 & 2
- installed SS 6.1 patch with BGRIII + RR
- installed data.zip from here: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=106060
- installed Stainless_Steel_Com0 + SSTC_Patch_1.2 + SSTC_Hotfix (only checked RAJ option in the hotfix)
- installed RR + SSTC for SS 6.1

I was able to continue playing my saved campaign & battles work great.
Maybe I'm just thickheaded, but it took a good amount of time & punching walls to figure this out. I think it would be a good idea to post a more clear installation instruction.
