Default East India Company - now it's your turn, traders

This post is related to my previous post, http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=166809
But since that post was initially about another game, CoAS, it wanted to have a separate one for this game. I hope the moderators can accept this.

Also, today the new site was launched for EIC, so all of you have a look if you can:

    http://www.eic-game.com/

Seeing the info, looking at the pictures, I think we here have yet a game many of us will be wanting to play. Together with Empire off course. But who knows, maybe this is even better. At least the gameplay on sea will be of a higher level, or so I can decide from the pictures.

The website doesn't seem to go into much detail on the trading and logistics side of this game. Am I missing it somewhere? Will defiantly keep an eye on this though.

The game is real time strategy or "action strategy". About the RPG elements there's yet to be more information.
And I read the exact month was December.

They have also posted some interesting questions on the forum. I'll post them if we have an answer.

There's an update on the game. We have been blessed with a preview of the sea battles:

Go here for the official site, or here for the video on youtube.

There are also some questions updated on the forum:

    - Player leads a company, not a nation. Historically, many East India Companies were like nations inside nations. They had their own standing armies, permission to print money and right to wage wars.

    - Diplomacy player runs is diplomacy of his company. On the opposite side of the table are other companies, not their respective nations. Basically player has no contact with actual nations and they or their actions do not have major impact on what happens in the game. Your own nation can for example aid you financially or demand you take certain actions.

    - Ports you take over are under your rule. You decide what buildings to upgrade, what ships to build etc.

    That's all for now. Enjoy!

It looks interesting, but when it's released around the same period as E:TW, I'm forced to make a choice...Don't have the time to play it all...

Well, while you're all playing E:TW on your unofficial Alienware rigs, I'll be playing this.

And that Youtube clip looks pretty sweet.

After many months, there's has been some new info about this game. Although ETW is going to be a very hard opponent, this team is learning, and improving, as you can see from the development from the past months.

And a final link to some screenshots of the game:

As it seems, and as I said already, it's less than ETW, since there's no land battles. And I find it a pity they didn't include the Carribean. Maybe that's for a next update. I hope they continue to up the quality in the way they're doing now. Anyway, I'm eager to see what the end result will be.
