I asume you all heared about the Anderlecht riots last weekend, where Anderlecht fans clashed with north african youths.

What pisses me off is that now everyone is calling Anderlecht fans skinheads or racist when in fact, Northern africans called for revenge on a blog and asked people to come to Saint Guidon metro station to take on Anderlecht fans for revenge for some incidents that where not race related after the cup final the week before.

Belgian police detain 114 after riots

About 500 Anderlecht soccer fans and youths of African origin clashed last night in Brussels in fighting organised on the internet, a police spokeswoman said today.

Television pictures showed police using teargas and water cannon to defend themselves from a barrage of stones and bottles during the clashes near Anderlecht's stadium in the Belgian capital.

Police said the violence had been organised through a website calling for an "attack on all white fans of football club Anderlecht".

It was prompted by a confrontation between Anderlecht fans and a group of youths of north African origin after Anderlecht's Belgian cup final victory last Sunday.

"We have detained 114 people, of whom seven will be arrested and face charges," police spokeswoman Fanny Wellens said.

Fourteen police officers were injured during the clashes, two seriously, she said.

The rioting, which forced the closure of four nearby metro stations, lasted for four hours before some 240 police eventually gained control.

Wellens said police were still present in the area to prevent further rioting this evening.

There's a rumour that the clashes of the cup final came from a failed attempt to rob an Anderlecht fan by an immigrant youth, a bunch of Anderlecht fans apparently beat the robber to a pulp and it was seen as a racial attack, but I can't find a reliable source for that.

The Anderlecht supporters did not have to respond to it. But I see it in my country(Holland) as well, too many soccer matches are disrupted by foolish hooligans who do not show a true love for their team. It has nothing to do with soccer anymore. In fact according to the RSC Anderlecht official site RSC Anderlecht condemms the riotes and states that the recent violence has nothing to do with their soccer play.

BTW: I see no need to call people names because they have a different opinion.

The guy who was a witness (the guy who's face you can't see) tot he first riots claims it was started by Immigrants who had nothing to do with football starting a fight at his bar with Anderlecht fans. This riot was an effect of that. I'm shoked that nobody is shoked by people calling for an attack on white people specifically! If someone where to create a blog calling for an attack on blacks/chinese/jews whatever he'd be incarcerated and lynched in this world.

If you spoke Dutch you'd understand that the guy whose face is hidden is actually the bar owner and has nothing to do with hooliganism.

On Monday the day after the arguments at metro station saint guidon about 60 Immigrants started throwing rocks at his bar for no real reason other then the fact that on match days a Lot of Anderlecht fans come there. then since Tuesday Immigrants created a weblog calling for immigrants to organise and attack all white Anderlecht fans, Then on Friday everything got out of hand as a few hundred Immigrants gathered at saint Guidon and a few hundred Anderlecht and maybe Beerschot and Dutch football team Ajax fans, (police is not yet sure about this one) gathered at Place de linde. Police tried to keep the two appart and Immigrants started throwing rocks at them, later the football fans joined in

First of all lets make clear that Anderlecht is not Holland, it's in Belgium.

I completely agree with that. Violence is wrong in the first place, especially when it's pointed against a specific racial group. I condemm it.

However since it is not excactly known why both sides started their quarrel in the first place it is to soon to point one side or the other as racist. I condemm both sides, because both sides commited a crime, not just for fighting eachother but also for fighting against the police and destroying other people's properties in Anderlecht. Any idea how much these actions cost? If they really had such a quarrel that ther was no other way then fighting it out, they should have fought in a wood or field or something. Somewhere where they don't bother anyone.

Also I think that a true fan of a team, which you claim to be(I believe you), the one thing you should not do is support these acts of violence. True fans don't fight on the streets for 'their' team. Those who do that are only damaging themselves, their opponent and the team's image.

You haven't proven outwise that wild fans started shouting "WHITE POWER" and "NETHERLAND FOR THE DUTCH!" and beat down some immigrants to show thier manliness.
