lil help reinstalling

i cant for the life of me figure out how to get kingdoms back onto my computer.the patch would not work so i uninstalled kingdoms because it suggested i do so.autorun is off on my computer and i can't turn it on so i have to launch the installer manually but when i go to My Computer after inserting the game the icon for kingdoms does not come up.

Put another disc in it and see if it's icon comes up. If yes, then Kingdoms disc is the problem. Try cleaning it and llok for scratches, spills or anything else that doesn't belong on it.

i've put kingdoms in and i've put in medieval two.neither shows up.but when i click on the launcher and click play it says "please insert the correct cd rom and restart application" i'm sure it's in the right place and that it's the right disk.the driver just isn't reading the disks.but it used to work fine.
