    Default An observation

I've noticed that rebel towns you're not meant to take (Tibet and the Suadi Desert town) have no soldiers protecting them for that reason, their defence being impassable terrain.

So, the town in the desert peninsula (I can't for the life of me remember the name), south of Astrakhan (I think :hmmm has defending soldiers, but cannot be taken? I've tried by land and sea but I can't reach it, I know Siwa Oasis can be reached by sea, so is there any way to reach this town? I've never seen it attacked in any of my games.

    Bad memory???

Just kidding - I have a very good memory for names (most things for that matter).

Those regions are supposed to be not only impassable, but uncapturable, and in short, inaccessible. The BC team decided to create some regions as empty "waste" regions to enhance the feel of the mod. However, due to the hardcoded nature of the game, they cannot create empty zones - so they were forced to create full-fledged regions. They're just placeholders, but if you happen to get an army nearby them you can conquer them.

This... is the second time I'm repeating explanation of the inaccessible zones, and the third time I'm mentioning the move_character cheat. Use the "search" function, and give it a good 5 minutes before making new posts, please!

Second, a more descriptive thread title is also appreciated - "i hav a quetion" or "problem" isn't very descriptive or specific and leaves thread readers confused. Summarize your thread topic down to a few words for the thread title - it helps everyone GREATLY.

Third, I'm not a forum moderator nor a member of the mod team, and so I don't have the license to be as bossy or admonishing as I was, but I am doing this to help people and save some of the modders time so they can get back to work on making BC even better. Heehee!

    Anyway, here is your information:

    Region: Arabian Desert
    Capital: Buraydah
    Population: 1000
    Buildings: Wooden Palisade
    Garrison: None
Religious breakdown: 50% Islam, 50% Heresy

    Region: Karakum Desert
    Capital: Karakum
    Population: 500
    Buildings: None
Garrison: 2 units of Turkish Archers
Religious Breakdown: 70% Islam, 20% Heretic, 10% Pagan

    Region: Tibet
    Capital: Lhasa
    Population: 1000
    Buildings: Wooden Palisade
    Garrison: None
    Religious Breakdown: 100% Heretic

Now for how to get troops there.

    1. Press ~ (shift `) to bring up the console
    2. Move your mouse cursor to the target tile
    3. Type show_cursorstat (gives details and x,y coordinates)
    4. Type move_character "Character Name" x,y
(You need to type the right character name, each character has only one original name with a last name, titles do not count)
    5. Attack (Karakum has two units of Turkish Archers defending, pretty easy).

I know how the regions in the game work and how the move character cheats work. The question was "Because it has defending troops, is it capturable?" since the two obviously uncapturable towns dont have troops and the only other hard-to-reach town that can be captured does.

Sorry for wording my original question poorly, but your reply answered it anyway, thanks.
