Traitors
i've been playing england for about 100turns(btw i've edited the file so i have best cities and armies) and i got to 35 regions controlled and then both france and the HRE attacked, they had 4 provinces between them as i bought them off em really early in the game. is it the same as rome total war when the senate tells you to kill yourself if you get to powerful. also i had 7 cardinal and the pope was one of mine aswell and i gave them scotland after i took that. he has now excommunicated me for being attacked! can i carry to win the total war or do i try and reconcile with the pope

Re: Traitors
just kill the pope, but prepare for a large army, even a crusade after you. So if try to kill the pope remember to bolster your border towns and such. Good Luck

Re: Traitors
the only threat i have faced was from france when they used 5 full strength armies against my one of armoured swordsman. i lost 95 men and they lost 4300 over all then i exterminated the french people and marched towards the HRE and they are already under seige. one last ironic point "scotland" in my game is sweeden and cuba
