    Default Tribes of Gaul

It is my intention to start a new campaign and possibly an AAR with the tribes of Gaul. Being that i have little experience fighting with this faction i hearby ask for any advice, house rules, tactics, strategies or comments that could be of help. All will be considered and appreciated. Ah thank you.

I cant help you with house roules, but I can give you some advice with your army composition.

I use 6 Armored Warriors, 4 Heavy Spear Infantry (2 on both flanks), 4 forester huntersmen (they are better then the last archers!) 4 Noble Cavalry and 1 general. It works perfectly for me against every enemy. When I fought the Iberians I sometimes used 2 Armored Warriors more instead of 2 Spears.

I would suggest to train one strong army in Lungdunum (London) and try to kill the free people on Brittain stack by stack. I should work when u use Night Fight.

For the economy, mines, suburbs and fields are very usefull.

Haha! My Armored Warriors have 50 attack and 68 Defense, no Roman Legion can beat them. The Romans are weak cause they allways loose their legions to Cartharge so I can easly invade Italy....

Those armoured warriors are killers right enough. Amazing stats and they'll stand toe to toe with Roman legionaries. But they are elite units and one of my house rules has been to have a diverse and balanced field army.

So i was figuring on a host of spearmen, axemen and a couple of elite units such as the forester huntsmen, armoured warriors and Noble cavalry. This will make battles a lot tougher and i find it more challenging that way.

Brittania is a good place to expand, I'll look to take the whole Island and secure the borders of Gaul as the first stage in my campaign.

For myself, armored warriors are not an elite unit. The Celt Elite Warriors are my elite, the armored ones are my 'standart' unit. Oh and in RS 1.5 Gauls cant recruit any axemen.

Do the Gauls have bear warriors?
If so I'd use two of them instead of two Spearmen.

And is it true forester warbands are better than Elite archers? If so, how?

Good luck with your Gallic campaign. They start in a tricky position, so watch where you expand to

Ah, i was thinking of the Gallic swordsmen. I'm still a little out of date with the Gaul's troop roster.

    Thanks for the encouragement ES
