Regarding the Ghorid's lack of spears

Excluding regional levies and mercenaries do the Ghorids have any spears at all?

Also, I have another totally unrelated question but I don't want to flood the board with topics. Does BC not support widescreen or something? The widescreen option usually doesn't stay checked and if it does the labels for everything in the campaign move over with the camera. The original M2TW and Kingdoms both work perfectly in widescreen. Any ideas, the map looks a little compressed when not in widescreen.

You need to change the original MTW2 setting to widescreen format then launch the configfixer.bat to change the BC settings.

Alternatively you just edit BC.config with editor to change its settings.

For you first question, the answer is no. Please refer to the faction preview as to why.

No the Ghorids don't have in spear in 1.0. We'll be a adding a neat native afghan spearman unit for the Ghorids in 1.5.

Yeah they were. We chose to sacrifice the historical reality in favor of something more creative. However we've taken inspiration from those Karwah pavises.
