Bacause everyone else is them, theres no room for you to be them, so unfortunatly, you got stuck with being you.

    Oh, well.

You are who you are because of nature, nurture, fate, and your own will.

And God, if you're into that sort of thing.

No-one else technically exists. You can only be you.

    Perhaps I should elaborate.

Why am I existing in this form? Why was I "born" as me?

Someone had to be your consciousness.

No they didn't. What if next month's egg was fertilized instead? Consciousness is a product of my existence not the other way around. It's what you see on your computer monitor, for example.

But the question is why am I me and not someone else? Why when I became aware was I not aware in some other time or place?

You're saying I'm tied to a specific body and such...I am my body, there isn't any destiny in play or anything like that. I didn't have to exist, none of us do.

i know this was quite a while back but some would believe because you deserve to be in this form. You are who you are because you've earned it. You don't do anything, you become a slob, you work out, you become fit, you study rocket science, you become a rocket scientist. i reckon its all about what you do with yourself

You make it sound like his consciousness came before him. Boeing began to exist and then became him, not the other way around.

This could get into alternate realities. Really messy stuff.

Consciousness is deceptive, and is not your true identity (what some call a soul). Brains themselves are the streaming of two separate, incomplete consciousness'. You are very much the output of your physical body, defined and limited by it. Because your brain and body demanded a personality to exist, one developed. That is you. Perhaps with a God you can become more or less, but what is certain by man's wisdom is you are your body. You are tied to that specific body because something had to exist, and you were it. You are no different than all other animal brains and consciouness in your existence except for your ability of transcendence.

Your soul didn't have to exist, but something had to, and that something is you
    What soul?

Your entire awareness is itself a gaia, a streaming of two smaller brain outputs. Your meaning is to move. To find food. To escape danger. To reproduce. You exist because for whatever cause you must, all in order to uphold the meaning most obvious. While my view allows divinity, no doubt we agree- You are your body. But your conciousness is a complicated thing, existing in half forms, abstract forms, and forms in process. In any case it's a fascinating thing.
    My brain hurts.

Again, that's exactly the point, I view the abstract consciousness as part of the soul, but perhaps it is more concentrated than that. Whatever.
