    Default Destroying Rome

I am Greeks and and took Sicily, booted Brutii off Apollonia. I am about to attack the peninsula, but I do not know how to kill the senate. I am making armored hoplites and spartans everywhere, with archers and ballista. What should I do for the field battle?

Depends on what you want, you can draw them out with a small stack and then take the city. You can surround them with six stacks and annihilate them.

Well that mostly depends on how many armies the Senate has. If it's just one army cooped inside the city of Rome, I can assure you that there will be more generals in there than troops, and therefore, a siege and then assault would be your best choice. But if they have field armies outside Rome, deal with those first, and then go onto to attack Rome itself.

start south and work ur way up. senates army wanders alot so i would fill rome with spys and just try to jump in.

Leave it to the modder to perfect the works of the paid developers for no profit at all.

So many factors to consider. First, the strength of the Senate allies on the peninsula. In the Four Princes of Egypt story, I abandoned the Brutii city on the bootheel, which drew the strong Julii to retake it from the rebels, leaving me free to send one army to face the Scipii at Capua and another to face the Senate. Second, as Xavier said above, you need to find out the strength of the Senate. They probably have 2-3 full armies and about 5 generals, but the quality may not be so good, since they don't have a lot of fighting experience. Still, they may have developed to urban cohorts. Third, the allies again: can you keep Rome once you take it? You'll need at least one strong supporting army to trade blows with the circling enemies. But you probably have a lot of experience with that from kicking the Brutii from Greece. Good luck.

well heres how my battle w/ the brutii went.

one army attacked me while i besieged rome. the SPQR bought anothe army to attack me. then i won the battle, and won rome.

just take a full army and besiege rome, then other armies will come for u and rome will use reinforcements. u will win, and rome will be urs!
