Any plans on porting Tera Nova to IN when it comes out?

    Definately
I have already preordered and will install it in about 48 hours from now if it comes out then . So far all of the TN Mod Team Members plan on buying IN so this will also help greatly. Along with the great help that 17blue17 has been, I am pretty sure I will be signing up two more members to the TN Mod Team very soon. Both of them plan on Buying IN I think (at least one is for sure).

But every mod has different aims. Even if two mods aims happen to be similar they might have very different ways of going about achieveing it.

As someone who enjoys playing modded games, options are a good thing, or atleast a very enjoyable thing.

And perhaps competition drives them to do greater things. There is no reason to believe that one mod would be able to achieve more...

Well, from even the very first published goals of the original MM mod, Ubik and Shapalignment had very different goals then TN Mod (which used to be called Darken Mod). Even though both mods focus on world balance and plausibility, most other goals are very different in my opinion. Although more modders on one project would mean more content, I believe the MMG2 team are all very skilled and are very capable of achieving thier goals. Thank you for your suggestion though

I agree here. Both Ubik and I dont like to use the word competition though, the EU3 community is very helpfull and sharing. A better word might perhaps be Independant Cooperation or some other word meaning a simular thing.

if you mean what does TN 8.48 change, then here you go:
    Code:
    version 8.48:
-Judaism now has a purple color in the religion map mode as it was too close of a color to Muslim colors.
    #Tsar's ideas for missionay realism:
-removed missionary placement chance bonus from monarch ADM.
-forts now give a reduced bonus of missionary chance (0.01 to 0.06 now).
-reduced missionary chance bonuses for most religions (-1 at worst but most are 0.02 to 0.05)
    #
-fixed a vanilla bug with make_st_petersburg_capital decision that allowed exploitation of the decision.
-added the Hiring Fair mod: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?p=8658591#post8658591
-Hiring Fair is now for Player Only.
-changed icon for hiring fair country modifier.
-maximum change in missionary chance due to prestige is now +/- 2%.
-resource depletion events should happen a bit less often.
    -divine_supremacy now has missionaries = 1.0 and deus_vult now has missionary_placement_chance = 0.02.
-restructered and reduced the number of hiring fair events while keeping the same overall effect.
-moved gold rush events into the TN Goods.txt file.
-renamed trade_goods.txt to TN Unknown.txt and renumbered the events.
-fixed a vanilla mission bug in mughal's defeat england mission.
-added IN vanilla colonial events that i forgot to add.
-added major = yes to many important events.
-seperated scandinavian mission from sweden missions.
-golden horde now has a better chance of becoming unlucky.
-adjusted manufactury missions to require more goods.
-trade company TM now only gives +10% TE.
-added der Zarewitsch's ship names version 0.7.
-changed spacing of domestic panel overview modifier icons to be closer together.
-added modifiers to resource depletion events to reduce the accurances for larger nations.
if you want to know what TN Mod is all about, then you should check the manual, FAQ, and the Goals links on the first post of this thread

    TN Mod 8.49 is released!
    http://files.filefront.com/Terra+Nov.../fileinfo.html
    http://www.mediafire.com/?z3z23ldoezt

    Introduction:
This is a BIG update which will (IMO) Balance the mod more than it has ever been balanced. The mod is at a good state with only a few obstacles left to deal with (finish the colonization/Explore content and balance AI behavior).

Save game compatible with last few versions of TN Mod.

    Release Notes:
    http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/...59#post8038259

    Summary:
The HRE has been improved. You will no longer see non-european electors or emperors (well, they will not last long if it happens). Ireland and other european islands can now join the HRE (all of the isolated europe islands can join now). The Empire will now expand and contract throughout a game and is now more improved in this aspect. You will probably rarely see a static HRE. It will be very week at some point in the game probably and may even be nearly unstopable at times.

Trade has been nerfed slightly to prevent global trade domination (placement chance will get reduced now for each merchant). Compete chance reduction per merchant is still like vanilla.

Created a Counter Reformation event and changed the reformation a bit so that the start and end dates are more historical. The counter reformation event will cause even more historical chaos. No longer will nations be stuck with protestant or reformed, they can now go back to being Catholic. This feature is still rather untested so I would like feedback.

Many general bug fixes and improvements.

Tsar Has provided a Alpha version of his Colony and Explore system. I will let him explain this, so until then, I will let it be a easter egg so to speak. Just keep in mind that many descriptions are not finished and this system is still in development. We would like everyone to pay attention to AI colonization and exploration and report bugs or suggestions on this system. please do not report missing descriptions yet.

Finalized the balancing of Missionary chances. Missionaries are now important as you will now only rarely get Province to state religion events if you have missionaries.

Major Overhaul of Supply and Demand for goods. This is still a work in progress but it is more realistic than vanilla now. Please report any problems or suggestions concerning S/D of goods.

    News:
Tsar and me will be working on finishing the Colonization/Explore content and at some point I hope to improve AI to AI relations (make the AI choices more realistic concerning how they view other AI and the player). Once these things are done, we can focus on perhaps adding new missions and decisions because the Backbone of the mod by then will be very strong. Once the Colony/Explore system is finished, 17blue17 will be adding his Suez Canal content if he has time and desire. This would either happen before the end of august or not at all most likely.

I know this is a stupid coment but, you should add the ability for african or arabic faction that unified the Sahel to form a united Sahel shahdom/empire that controlls the trade betwin Africa and the ME.

Thanks for your ideas. Could you provide me some links to historical resoucres on this topic (preferably wiki) and also explain your idea further? Thanks. It sounds to me like you are suggesting that I add a new nation to the mod that is formable by certain nations (like great britian is able to be made by England and other nations). I fully support adding more creatable nations as long as they either historicly were formed in EU3 time frame or there was a goal for that nation to be formed.

Never thought I'd see anything EU on TWC. But then again, I always just lurked in the mod and main M2:TW section. Never once explored the other areas to much extint.
