Load Times

'ello guys,

I'm really enjoying Stainless Steel 6.1 but what's keeping me from playing is the rather long load times which occur when you end turns. For me, it takes roughly 40 seconds to cycle through all the AI players until my turn begins.

Is there anything I can do to shorten this time?

2 Gigs of Ram

There are about a dozen threads about this. 40s isn't even that much. I usually take the newspaper with me so that I can read it while waiting. That is the price you pay for such a magnificent game I guess. Besides it keeps me informed about what is going on in the world.

40 seconds is keeping you from playing? There are people that have 2min+ turn changes. 40 seconds is nothing.

I've no idea on your hardware- not my thing.

But turn off campaign shadows, and select 'skip AI movement' in the game options of the ESC menu.
