    Default The Misanthropy Club

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Misanthropy

Aaah, lovely day we're having. Too bad it's populated by people.

I hereby open the Misanthropy Club of TWC! The first of its kind, to my knowledge, and of course the best.

Rant about the shortcomings of humanity here, friends and a-holes, rant about the conflicts we so enjoy so needlessly. The trivialities, the genocides, the entertainment industry, the inaction by governments to stop hunger, war and getting their wub together to bring peaceful co-existence.

The fact that if Jesus were alive today, nobody would listen to him. If aliens came down to say hello, as if they would... we would dissect them.

The fact that human beings can brag about putting men on moons yet cannot seem to feed our hungry, clothe our poor, or resolve matters of ego displays the human animal as a pathetic, tragic figure.

We are locusts. We are locusts with opposable thumbs. We take, plunder, rape, murder, and call it virtuous. The fact we believe ourselves to be so important, yet really are so insignificant. We all try and carve out a little piece of immortality for ourselves, when the only thing that should be immortal is the continuance of our species, prosperously and peacefully where possible.

But no, ego overtakes humanity, our animal side corrupts that divinely human side, and we fall into irrational behaviours that are self-destructive and detrimental to the whole race. We pollute without caring unless everybody else cares (yargh), we spit on our homeless and cheat our neighbours, we think without thinking at all. We never step into another's shoes, if only for a mile.

Yes, I do indeed loathe that creature, that human, because for all the great things they have done and can do, all the wondrous things they are capable of, they really are a bunch of monkeys. They're thinking monkeys, but monkeys no less. Still primitive in many ways, yet capable of great things.

The ancient Romans built their greatest masterpieces of architecture for wild beasts to fight in.

No joke, just dark moods where there seems to be only human error and stupidity.

You are taking humanity far too seriously; it evidently isn't. If people would individually realize that ultimately they are not that important, most of the above would be very different.

Humanity takes itself far too seriously, yet at the same doesn't really, I mean, not when we have what goes on...

Lots of people aggravate me, but there is one person that always has to ruin everything. He is "that guy", and he's the reason why we can’t have nice things. If everyone agreed to never fight a war again and spend the worlds massive military budget to better humanity, that guy will show up and start a war. So we all have to continue maintaining militaries. He's the same guy that you bring to the bar you frequent and then starts a fight there. Someone always has to ruin it for everybody. I think people could actually get along if it weren't for that guy.

I offer to you the misanthrope's teleological argument:

When one observes the astounding self-contradiction, unnatural arrogance, and superlative stupidity of the human species, only one conclusion is possible. A creature of such massive idiocy could not have come about by accident. Only a being of superhuman capabilities could possibly conceive the plague of imbeciles that is Man. Therefore God must exist.

Nice, but God is probably human if He wubbed up so bad.

Is Man made in God's image, or God made in Man's?

The argument does not require that the creation of Man is a mistake; merely that the creature itself is so absurdly flawed, its existence implies godlike powers.

On the second question, the argument would seem to require neither.

I am sorry I didnt see this thread earlier and would like to join-- because I consider myself an accomplished human-hater; just read my posts.

and to restablish them here--- I pray for the day when the last human breaths its last breath, and I only wish I could feel the emptiness of hope, and despair, that the last one will feel.

I take joy in the idea of extinction, and the eventual nonexistence of all human life, ideas, and concepts.

lol the most common answer one can give -- here is a star

now lets go over what I said

I pray for the day when the last human breaths its last breath, and I only wish I could feel the emptiness of hope, and despair, that the last one will feel.

I take joy in the idea of extinction, and the eventual nonexistence of all human life, ideas, and concepts.

do you see anything about suicide there my good man?

I want to see the species die, one life is not my goal, all life is.-- and if thats the goal I need to stay around to make sure plenty of you are dying all the time -- suicide is silly for me personally, but I wouldnt mind if the lot of you killed yourselves, spare yourselves the horror of the truth

and the truth is I will get what I want.

hey man whatever you need to tell yourself I have no problem with people of faith.

the facts as usual are on my side, your hiding behind what you want to be true, rather than what is true.

If you cannot handle the concept of nothingness, perhaps you need to take up a religion.
Be assured that humanity will vanish, along with all traces of us; and all that we have ever been or ever will be; will be rendered totally meaningless.

you should take pleasure in the single rarity of your position as per being a human being; rather than deluding oneself with childish ideas that we will somehow live on.

Death is the only gift you are to receive, it is the gift of all life, it is the road to awe :O

And these facts are? Or are you just spewing out the usual rhetoric to make your position seem somewhat non-insane and absurd?

do you not follow any sort of science?

eventually the universe will die, there will be no stars and only evaporating black holes-----

the planet earth has used up 93 percent of its livable lifespan ( organic sustainability)

our species has existed in a place of balance, a place where the rare chances all came together to form us, it is incredibly fleeting.

all things are temporary my good man; including human life. including the species.

if you think different then you are a madman.

Honestly I should not have to relate this too you, it is such painfully common knowledge, but I think I can see why you avoid the truth of it, so attached you must be to the whole idea of yourself, and humanity as a whole--- you must be young as well, and have never properly faced death.

its all so very fragile, so very wonderful, so very temporary.
all we love, all we hate, will pass into absolute nothingness --- either find a way to make this a good thing , or spend your life running away in your heart, from the fate of all things.
