Who would you like to see the candidates put as their cabinets if they win the presidency?
I'll only do the Big Four (Attorney General, State, Defense and Homeland Security)
McCain:
1. Zalmay Khalilzad - Pushtan immigrant to the US who is currently US Ambassador to the UN as the Secretary of State. Former Ambassador to Afghanistan and then Iraq and has a good deal of experience in the foreign field. Grew up in Afghanistan, went to high school in the US and college in Lebanon he knows the Middle East. His experience in the UN gives him general foreign policy knowledge.
Alternate: Ryan Crocker - The man who along with Petreaus is responsible for the turn around in Iraq as he was the Ambassador there during the surge. He predicted the problems in Iraq, and was well respected by Powell. He served in the old embassy in Iran, Qatar, Baghdad and Lebanon.
2 Norman Schwarzkopf - Secretary of Defense. He is the man in regards to the military and will be a real technocratic decision. Mensa member he has far more than the intelligence neccessary for the job. As he went to high school in Tehran he has some knowledge of the Middle East and the mindset there. That is along with his knowledge as CENTCOM commander during Desert Storm. He is also well respected around the world.
Alternate: David Kilcullen - Not sure if you have to be a US citizen to get this post, but despite being an Aussie he is one of the best choices for this job being a counter-terror expert.
3. Joe Lieberman - Secretary of Homeland Security. Chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Comittee this is a logical jump and will keep him close to McCain as they work well together.
4. Fred Thompson - Attorney General. Skilled lawyer and national security adviser to the State Department.
Obama:
I'll look at this a bit later.
