    Default Unique Cities / Buildings

Although I have browsed the forums and played the total war games for many years now, I have only just made this account.

One of the biggest niggles for me in the game was the total lack of unique architectural styles and cities. For example, I was, quite frankly, horrified by MTW2's representation of Constantinople amongst the other Byzantine settlements.

I thought, since the mod is quite focussed on historical accuracy, whether there were any plans to make a new standard "architectural" style for the byzantines - perhaps, for huge cathedrals the model of the Hagia Sophia could be used, and cities could have aquaducts etc.

I was just wondering whether this was possible, and whether the same thing could be done for other factions, like the Turks or Russians etc.

It won't be included in our mod;it is simply too much.but i tought that Basileia Total War made efforts to do this, and that they are bussy with restyling byzantine settlements.you should check it out!

Constantinople will be just the only huge city at the begining of the game!
Giving some advandages (pallace units)and some disadvandages(poppulation uprises)!
TGC in order to continue its development seak one or more desicated scripters to put our campaign scripts mess to an order plus to create new events and create the finall missing factions recruitment system. In return TGC will give permision to those that will help to use its material stepe by step. The result will be a fully released TGC plus many mods that will benefit TGC's material.
Despite the mod is dead does not mean that anyone can use its material
    read this to avoid misunderstandings.

IWTE tool master and world txt one like this, needed inorder to release TGC 1.0 official to help TWC to survive.
Adding MARKA HORSES in your mod and create new varietions of them. Tutorial RESTORED.

I don't think that would happen, the unique settlements feature of BTW is the only thing that makes that mod really unique, and understandably they wouldn't be willing to part with it.

    Its a good mod though.

A fellow down at the Stainless Steel forums made a Stainless Steel sub mod that made Byzantine settlements look unique by mixing their eastern european buildings with Arabic ones, he should be willing to share that he already has for other Stainless Steel mods.

I tried it and did not like it much. I felt like in Constantinople AFTER its fall to the Turks, rather then in unique byzantine city... Anyway I believe that in the future, once main goals of this mod will be done, we can focus more on architecture of settlements :-)

Let's hope so!what i know from my very small modding knowledge and from others is i that restyling settlements and reskinning buildings is possible, altough it is very difficult;it could take very long to do this and too long for most people who make mods.
to be honest,i think resurection is right.i didn't like it either, simply because of the reason that it still doesn't look like how a byzantine city used to be.i even find vanilla better.
but CA just made a mess with M2TW:they had to make realistic and historical buildings who looked like they were realy in medieval times

I agree. But, I do think the red bit at the top of the walls is good.
Also, I think Basileia could actually benefit from working with Dominion, as their modding team is quite small.

We have tried to get in touch with them but they don't seem incredibly interested. Just one of those things.
Sorry to contradict our resident Greacophile Anthonius again but Constantinople won't be the only huge city in 1080, as you know many cities were extremely large at this time and we are trying to represent realistic population sizes both inside settlements nad even in armies across the map. Whether this will be possible is another question...

That is a real shame - Basileia and Dominion combined would be THE best mod of all time
Also, I was about to say that Constantinople should not be the only huge city, as it was rivalled in size by other cities, such as Baghdad and Cordoba.
