    Default Unable to Install

    Fresh install of R:TW patched to 1.5.

    Nothing out of the ordinary... attempting to install EB and about 15% of the way into the install i receive this message.

    =========================================================
    E:\Rome - Total War \EB\Data\models_unit\Textuers\hellenistic\ebhellenistic_infantry_red_sea_hopilites_stefan25_saba.TGA.dds

    An error occured while trying to copy a file:
    The source file is corrupted.

    Click... abort / retry / ignore

    ========================================================

    Abort gets me pretty obvious results, retry as often as i like it will not progress. Ignore, even if it worked would probably not be a good solution but it seems to just move to the next file and promptly does the same thing.

    I've downloaded EB multiple times now and with the same results. Any suggestions?

    If anyone is interested.

    After attempting most, or all the applicable items suggested for those with install issues, I had success with none.

    I've been reading about what seems to be fairly wide spread issues with a corrupt download. So dispite coming from the same site my 4th download of the exact same file appears to be working, as it's at apx. 90% as I post and has long since passed the files that i've had issue with.

    Other than attempting another (x3) downloads of the same file I have done nothing else to the fresh install. So anyone with the same problem. I guess just keep at it.

    It seems to be a corrupt download, but if you've downloaded twice and gotten the same error... :hmmm:

    i've got the same problem at this very moment (i.e. i'm installing eb) but it started with the error message at the mp3 files and i'm clicking "ignore" whenever it comes up in the vain hope that its just the sound files. my problem is that i can only download eb once a month or i go over my internet usage and i was wondering if there is any other way to get the installer to work without redownloading it from the internet.

    p.s. i've ticked the "modesty patch" or whatever that one was, does that make a difference?
    p.p.s. i didn't download it from torrent i got it from filefront, does that make a difference?
    p.p.p.s. i've got BI, does that make a difference?
    p.p.p.s. i've also installed rome total realism (and it works), does that make a difference?

    p.p.p.p.s. i can't remember whether or not you are using vista but i am, (once again) does that make a difference
    thanks

    Having RTR may cause problems. I believe the Iberian Conflict doesn't conflict but other versions may.

    Make sure you install v1.1 then v1.2.

    What does the error message say exactly?

    i know you didn't ask this but the rtr version was the platinum 1.9

    i'm having this problem installing eb 1.1 so don't i need to install it first before installing eb 1.2 (if i downloading eb 1.2 can fix 1.1 before i install it i'll try it but it doesn't seem likely)

    the following error message appears while i'm trying to install eb 1.1. (minus the quotation marks)

    "Error
    C:\Rome-Total War\EB\Data\Sounds\music\Eastern_TPC_Battle3_Orderandchaos.mp3
    click retry to try again, ignore to skip this file (not recomended), or abort to cancel installation."
    and then at the bottom of the message are the three alternatives.
    thanks again

    Your download may be corrupted...
    Try using the torrent option, if possible. You don't have to start over from scratch, if you tell the torrent to install the file where you already have it downloaded, it will just check the file and tell you whether or not it is corrupt.

    i have Bit Torrent 6.1.1 but i can't download anything from it, it just shows a red bar at availability and says downloading but doesn't.

    i don't know how to install EB from torrent but i tried opening torrent then openning EB from that but it still came up with the red bar thing. it didn't say anything about a corrupted file but that's probably because it didn't even start installing or downloading it.

    if you know a way to make torrent work then please tell me but if not, do you have any other ideas?
