Default Any late excitement in the Americas game?

I just 'won' the scenario as New Spain by wiping out the indigenous people and taking 30 settlements. I still have 100+ turns left and I had not had a chance to really use my Dragoons as my enemies were more-or-less beaten by the time I got them.

Is anybody going to turn up to give me a game? I had some brief excitement when the English arrived - but I just kept annihilating them in whack-a-mole style because I controlled the whole of that region and had tons of Conquistadores.

Is it worth carrying on and waiting for The French / Dutch / Portuguese or anybody..? Or is that about it? Its a pity, because I was enjoying the game. The Aztecs were good while they could keep pumping out armies.

I think the French were dithering about in the North somewhere, but they haven't really set the world on fire. I have not ventured further than Havanna or much past the Aztec heartland.

So no huge armada is going to suddenly swoop over the horizon with thousands of crack troops who have sworn to kill me?

The French usually land in Florida, if that's of any help.

If the French have given the Apaches horses and guns you can have some very interesting (and perhaps surprising) engagements with your Dragoons. If the Apaches haven't got those yet you'll have to go sacrifice some units to them and lose several battles so that they can get them. The French, if they are there should not be much of a challenge but are a different type of batlte as they have musketeers. The Chimichecs (sp.?) are better fighters than the Aztecs, IIRC. They are due north of the Aztecs and are probably getting ready to attack unless the Apaches have hit them.
