NBC News is asked to set record straight on ‘deceitful’ editing

"I'm sure you don't want people to conclude that there is really no distinction between the `news' as reported on NBC and the `opinion' as reported on MSNBC, despite the increasing blurring of those lines," Gillespie said.
They have the NBC talking heads like Overbite and Mathews on NBC now sitting with the real news anchors. They have no scruples. Thats what Bush gets for giving them an interview.
They edit it to say what they want. Its no longer worth trying to get news from as they manufacture it.

As a teenager, I was taken to various houses and flats above takeaways in the north of England, to be beaten, tortured and raped over 100 times. I was called a “white slag” and “white ****” as they beat me.

If you post one more quote without a link I'm gonna.....

    j/k

Seriously though, these quotes are kind of useless without knowing where they come from. Gillespie is the name of the University of Kentukcy basketball coach (I live in Kentucky)...

So? That only increases the possible validity of the quote.

The part that Rush left out:
NBC countered by saying the unedited interview has been available since Sunday on the network's Web site, and that the reporting accurately reflects the interview. The extra sentences by Bush were included during a report on Sunday's "Today" show.
Because tv news shows have all the time in the world to air everything said in a non-live interview.
One thing is for certain: the more profoundly baffled you have been in your life, the more open your mind becomes to new ideas.

Did you actually watch the interview?

    NO.

Bush made a fool of himself. He actually looked worse in the full length interview (more was aired last night).

Bush FAILED to explain the actual meaning of "appeasment", and failed to explain that, though his staff did explain there would be something controversial about his knesset speech, the only thing so is the appeasment comment, and he would refuse to acknowledge if not obama who it was directed at.

He FAILED to realize that Iran had enriched uranium, and it is in fact not hard to do so, even though he stated OTHERWISE.

He disregarded the interviewers comments about Iraqi opinion even though he spent the last 5 years living partly in Iraq. GG Bush.

The whole interview was just bad, even for Bush. I swear, he literally doesn't know jack. It isn't hard to argue a conservative case, but jesus he's really doesn't know HOW.

    *sigh*

Anyway, there's no controversy here, nbc did a favor by cutting down the interview.

I have to agree with you. On the first question, the interviewer assumed Bush was talking about Iran when he only said "terrorists" and "radicals". Bush let him get away with that for some reason. Then he said some crap about not negotiating with Al Qaeda. Who has said they want to negotiate with Al Qaeda?

Then at the end, he was asked if the war on terrorism has made us less safe. Then he said he was confronting the people who killed us which lumped Afghanistan and Iraq together. Then he made some analogy about bee hives.

Also, Hamas was elected because bush pushed for elections, against the advice of... everyone.

AND, as anyone who knows ANYTHING knows, negotiations with rogue nations, and historically Iraq, are used mainly to draw the line in the proverbial sand. "Do this, and this will happen. Thus stop doing this."

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24716118/

For anyone looking for the full interview its here as of monday night.

Bush says in the interview that he disagrees with the belief that the middle east would be better off with Saddam. Claims irroneously that Saddam funded terrorism.

Says Iran is worried more about a young democracy (Iraq) growing next door. Denies Iranian influence is growing based on the war.

Bush said he stood by Iraqi PM side when he went after Basra militias.

BUSH: Biggest weapon we have against those who hate freedom (IE: Iran) is the advance of Freedom.

When Engel mentioned the soldier whos on his second tour... Bush immediately mentions that the soldier volunteered and he praises the soldiers.

BUSH to Engel on exit strategy: The return on success. The more successful Iraq is the fewer troops we will need, and there is no question that Iraq is becoming successful...

BEE Hive Theory of Bush comparing the hive to al qaeda and justifying invasions of Afganistan and Iraq:Are we suppose to just let the hive sit there and hope the bees dont come out.

Engel: So we smash the hive and let the bees scatter.

Also his analogy to ww2 appeasement is ... Western powers tried diplomacy and it failed... so war happened. Bush wants to forego diplomacy and just jump straight into war so with that theory we would have gone to war right off the bat with the SU how many times if we had avoided Diplomacy.

The Romans had it right 2000 years ago. The Byzantine-Romans had it right 1000 years ago... Diplomacy first and military conflict only as a last resort.

Baloney. He did it to his won people for crying out loud.

    Proof that Saddam bankrolls terrorism
: documents seized by Israel in raids against Palestinian Authority offices in the West Bank in recent months detail massive terror funding from the Iraqi dictator - World: Iraq

Even as President George W. Bush and CIA Director George Tenet lay out the evidence of Iraq's operational ties to al-Qaeda terrorists, new documents seized by Israel from Yasser Arafat's headquarters in Ramallah and other terrorist operational centers in the West Bank show in extraordinary detail how Iraq has been funding terror and mayhem against Israeli civilians during the last two years.
Also his analogy to ww2 appeasement is ... Western powers tried diplomacy and it failed... so war happened
    Because the used APEASMENT,

    Get back on topic.

NBC is just crap, no other way to put it.

I don't think they are really politically slanted, they just produce TV shows as cheap as humanly possible (hint: good journalists and editors cost money) and make money off people who are apparently too stupid to figure out how to change channels.
