I seen an entire full stack army of mine finish a battle covered in blood.

I had no blood when I first installed SS6.1 then I fiddled with the graphic setting an I had bloody battles again dunno what i did exactly, I actually liked the tomatos cuz without zooming in you can see if a unit is getting blooded up

Vanilla had blood. That's how we can mod it.

Oh I see, I always had probs getting blood to show up
I thought they just mod'd getting burnt or something

I assume its not easy to mod? wish I could add more blood

what if I downloaded an old SS version with more blood
is there something I could copy from that? Obviously I'm a nub a this

It's done through the alpha channel of the blood overlay textures. That's all I know. If you want more blood there are a couple of blood mods out there. Check the Mod Threads forum.

There was a blood patch before that made troops pile of red beaten armor by the time they were slain... that was a little much, but I'd like a little more than what I'm seeing now.
