i noticed some bug i think so i am opening this thread. post any bug you come across here.

Bugs :

when i play a custom battle with numidia i noticed numidian legionairs have no feet and a strange sword tip.

Technical support :

Few questions you need to ask your self before posting your problem!!!

- Did i update my videocart drivers???
- Did i play an other mod???? yes i did, did i delete my rome total war folder completely?
- Did you install the SPQR install file to the correct directory?
- Did i follow the install instructions correctly like its told in the STICKY???

The mod is very VC/CPU taxing due to HUGE scale units and loads of textures so try lesser settings to reduce CTDs... However I have found out that the CTRL+S and AUTOSAVE features in RTW engine have problems (memory leaks) and cause CTDs

Try saving your campaigns with names instead of auto save/quick save... I have reduced the CTDs occurence twofold since adopting this process

Another good tip to spot near CTDs is to look at the loading screens (garnier's) before and after battles... if they don't load (black) it means that the VC is not able to handle them and that the VC memory is filled up (memory leak) just save the game, exit SPQR and restart the system... you will then be able to play more hours non stop.

How to solve certain known things: (added by Valerius Tiberius)

1) always try -show_err
add it to your command line
(right click on your shortcut, the thing at the bottom, i think it's called "properties")
then you'll see "target" and add -show_err to it
remember! before -show_err must be a space!!!!
this will normally give you a message on what's wrong when your game CTD's


2) your music is still the vanilla music
solution: sometimes a re-install works, but deleting events.dat in the data/sounds solves it

3) some vista help :
folks I run vista home premium 32 sp1 and at the moment play xgm, extended realism and PI. no probs. I have not tried this mod yet but I found this to help a lot. I disabled the user admisnistrative authority function. Vista likes to yell at you for doing this just ignore the program there is no harm being caused by this unless you do not run an independant virus scanner.
how to do this/ start menue bottom left / control panal/ security/ click turn off user acount control under other security settings.

this is not technical but mod aimed. that s the diffrence.

yours is for installation stuff and so, Hesus' one is for ingame bugs
but i'll maybe merge these...

unit shaders is on. it' s the numidian legioneirs that have no feet there officers have feet. play a custom battle and you will see.

the lone general became part of the game in my eyes. this bug thread is for bug that can be fixt in the next addon ore a patch. i don' t think you can fix the general thing.

if you played an other mod and didn 't make a multiple install of spqr you should reinstall the game.
backup your saved game (just kopie it to an other folder) and afther reinstalling the game you can copie your saved game in the save folder.

maybe you should try to update your video drivers to.

like Hesus allready says is that you maybe play before you inst SPQR mod a other mod so than can crash the SPQR mod (i know because when i play for first tiem i got that problem xD)

so check that out first the get the problem help i seguest you unstal RTW and delete the map (like Hesus says in first post) afther that you reinstal it and that i think you can play it

Hey ,just had a question My hard drive crashed a few weeks ago and I lost all my data so I have DL SPQR TW again .My video game computer has no Internet so I have to moved the file via a network which is oftenly dissconnecting and reconnecting.Is it possible that when the file was being downloaded it may have lost some data or corupted some files because when I installed it during the process the installer says this file is damaged or corrupted and that the applicattion will be closed!? So now I not sure I f I want to take another shot downloading or should I just reinstall?:hmmm:

Well, I hope I digged a right thread...I have a little problem. I actually didnt like the addon (subjective opinion), since I love revealing map, having hidden what i cant see, being "scared" what jumps up from the darkness Ill stick to the original 6.4 and try to vanquish Greeks before they rule the world

BUT - Now comes the problem...I uninstalled whole RTW, installed clean version, did everything as before - clean, 1.3, 1.5, "played" prolouge, 6.4 install and thats it.

SPQR starts normally, everything works, except for music...There is original RTW music, not the right one - Conan, Orff etc. and music from Caesar III on the campaign map...

What should I do, tweak desrc_* files somehow?

BTW, Its not only music, its also sounds (units etc.)...
