Default Dealing with rebels and traitors

I have been having some trouble with my boys turning reb, and frankly I don't find it very interesting to deal with lots of rebels popping up in my happy and prospering kingdom.

I know you can adjust these elements by editing the descr_strat.txt
    Two questions though:
    1. Does Commenting out the "rebelling_characters_active" line only stop your own troops from turning traitor, or does it also stop random rebel armies appearing?
    2. Do you have to start a new campaign to see any effects of changes to the descr_strat file?

Can anyone answer these two questions?

    1. No. It stops armies (including AI) rebelling. You can set the spawn rate of rebels very high like 599 in the descr_strat file so the rebels won't appear as often.
    2. Yes.
Officer to a soldier who refuses to fight: There three types of soldiers who don't have to fight. They are called KIA, MIA and POW and you are not one of them.

    Tosa will be missed.

Swiftly answered, Monsieur Alphonse, and with style!

Just to clarify, does this setting mean that sending in hordes of spies/priests/imams, and having your armies loiter menacingly in your neighbors backyard will NOT ever lead to their armies going Reb?

cities still rebel for the same reasons, it just lowers the spawn rate of rebel armies. Not sure about the rebelling generals and captains of your faction. that has to do with your leaders authority and their loyalty rating.
