Reinforcements

I want to ask that is it better to control a reinforcement or isit better to let the AI control it?Because if I control the reinforcement then the reinforcement waits till one of my unit is killed or is lost the field,if I let the AI control it then the whole reinforcement comes to the field.
-I talk about fullstack armies.

Depends, if you are overwhelmed, and sure you can't win the battle by yourself, then let the AI reinforce you, otherwise probabbly your AI general will be killed, and the rest of your army severely hurt.

It's completely down to the individual. If you let the AI control it then you effectively get twice the amount of soldiers on the field at the same time, however the AI are notorious for playing badly (strangely enough, they play the worst when they control your own troops ) so you will lose many soldiers. On the other hand, if you control them, you'll have less soldiers but what you do have is more effective.

My opinion is that if you're outnumbered hugely, bring in the AI reinforcements. Engage the enemy yourself and let the AI plough into the enemy flanks. If you're fighting on even numbers, fight it yourself and if the battle goes sour, your reinforcements enter the game.

Thanx for this suggestion.I found that it is mor effective to let the AI control the reinforcement when the reinforcement come at the enemys back.

Try to never let the A.I. have control of your reinforcements if they are led by a family member.

Otherwise you'll see your character generally outpacing the rest of the reinforcements and seeking engagements alone with spear units. I've lost some very good governors when they have sallied out to help defeat a besieging force i've engaged.

I never leave my reinforcements to the AI because of the way it handles the troops. It doesnt seem to have must tactically planning behind it and could lead them straight to a slaughter

I have a question to reinforcements,too.

If i attack 2 or more full enemy stacks the enemy reinforcements are allways delayed. I would like to fight 2 full stacks but its not possible for some reason?!

Can somebody help?

Yea, well i think i can help. You need to switch unlimited men on battlefield from :False to True

You can do this by going to your preferences folder in your RS folder.

preferences.txt somewhere in the RTW directory. find where it says "UNLIMITED MEN ON THE BATTLEFIELD: FALSE" and change it to "TRUE". save, exit, and play.
