Order of the Knights, How do you play them?

Hey, im making this thread so everyone can discuss strategies while playing as the Order of the Knights Templar, definately one of the most difficult factions in the game entirely.

For me, im in around turn 35-40, cant remember exactly ATM. I've taken Antioch, and Appelo, and Sicily was excommunicated and i've grabbed Syracuse and Pampelo or whatever.

Currently, i have trade-rights with Fatimids and Turks, since im sandwiched i cant really expand over there, so right now im moving most of my forces over to Sicily to finish them off, there down to there last 3 settlements.

How did you play in the beginning.

You can see my AAR its in my signature, I haven't updated it for a while though but you can see how I conquered the middle east. After the last post I made, I advanced north and conquered Turkey, and now the Byzantines are attacking me from west and Kwarz from east. There's also the odd Moors army. I'm at war with all of the muslims because they keep calling Jihads on my cities. It's kinda fun, but I haven't played for a while.

I wanted to take Italy and the British Isles, but my neighbours keep attacking me so I don't have enough armies to spare. My military production settlements are constantly pumping out new armies...
