how do you take pictures in the game?
how do you take pictures in the game?
prtscn (print screen) or fraps
thanks
To be more specific:
- hit "PrtScn"
-- go back to your Desktop (after minimizing your game)
--- open a program like "Paint"
---- paste your picture onto "Paint"
----- save artwork
Whoever designed the game didn't seem to care that most people don't have the software to open a .tga file (hence, the lengthier process I prescribed).
If you have XFire or FRAPS, it's a lot easier taking screenshots.

Xfire screenshots take up quite some room on your hard drive though....
How long can you have Fraps before you have to pay for it?

Gimp should allow you to open TGA files just fine. I just used PrntScreen and let the game save them to the TGA folder, and I could open them all perfectly fine.
Infraview is also able to open TGA files.

So you have to have the software to open the TGAs?
How much memory does Fraps take up?
Well put it this way. The trial version of Fraps only allows you to save photos in a BMP format. On average, I find that BMP images take about 2.25mb for each picture. This is quite a bit for a picture. So basically, if you want to save space from Fraps, you'll have to convert every picture you have from BMP to JPG so that it's easier to upload, and uses less space. If you have the full version, then of course, you can save it in JPG immediately.
If you have Irfanview, though, you can just make it convert the BMPs to JPG in batches, so it shouldn't take long to get those screenshots up and running.
Hmmm, that would be a help. I might take a look at this Infraview thing.

Then it would be best to use an independent program like fraps or irfanview, those work guaranteed.

Yeah. The system that I've found works best is
1. Capture with Fraps
2. Convert with Irfanview
3. Upload onto Photobucket or Imageshack
hmmm is the only folder to find screenshots the tga?

I think what Vista does is that instead of saving it straight to the TGAs folder, it saves it into a seperate folder in your hard drive so that if the TGA folder is deleted, then the photos are still in that seperate folder and you won't have lost it all.
If I remember correctly, to find this folder, the address is something like:
"C:\Users\Appdata\Virtual Store\Program Files"
Then you should be able to select your Creative Assembly/Activision folder, and then your RTW folder, and you should find a copy of the TGAs folder in there. If it doesn't work out, tell me and I'll try to sort it out. I had the same problem when I first tried the PrintScreen as well.
