Default Bands that had potential but never quite got there

Spitalfield. Had all the makings of a popular band, but never quite clicked. Their music is decent at best and their best songs were never quite as good as the other bands'.

The Jam, they were a fantastic punk band but they were always eclipsed by the Clash. Always.

ZZ Top - After a few hits, such as "La Grange," the rest of their music abysmally sucked.

The Fall , Mark E Smith is/was a genius. The best version of the band was during the time when Brix Smith was helping with song writing duties.
