Why the O.C. tv show ended??

i m watchin the fourth and final serie of O.C., on italian channel.... i wonder why did the fox tv, close the show?????

Hmm, what was the appeal of the show exactly? I mean, I never watched it and I'm quite the cynicist when it comes to hyped mainstream shows that I haven't seen but what exactly was the appeal and why shouldn't it have been canceled after 4 seasons (which isn't bad) ?

Yeah, because we watched the OC for the plot... Nothing to do with lovely, lovely Mischa, Rachel Bilson, and Olivia Wilde bein all hot (and lesbian) in it.

Plus, when she found the depth of my love for Mischa Barton, my fiancee forbade me from watching it, and of course, like a good husband (to be), I did. Of course, this was after she died... And she doesn't know I met her in real life. You do not know the willpower it took to politely say "Hello" instead of "Oh God please have my babies".

Probably because it got poor rantings in the US...and yep quick look season 3 105th place season 4 123rd place in ratings. Needless to say when you lose more than half your audience in such a short time span you are doomed Personally I see absolutely NO appeal in shows like this and no clue why anyone else would like it but hey thats my taste.

i read on internet, that Fox tried to cancel 6 times X-files serie in the past.... and i read also that, family guy's been cancelled years ago, but they (the Fox) re-put it on air, because they saw milions of family guy dvds sold... and they understood the big mistake, they were doin erasin the format
