They're not the best investment these days from a long term standpoint going back. I think they are in good shape going forward. They're in the housing market. I do think their prospects going forward are very solid."

Be advised that this is a public poll: other users can see the choice(s) you selected.
In other words: if you vote "no" you risk being shipped off to Guantanamo bay and tortured by the CIA.

What kind of question is that, what is its purpose, what exactly does "like" mean in the context of a national intelligence agency? What is the point of this thread?

No kidding I fail to see how liking or disliking a intel agency is matter for debate. May as well ask do you like going to church, do you like inlaws over for the holidays. Now if you want to make it does the CIA do the job its meant to do well or not sure but like? Well whats the point....

Well no one seems to have anything good to say about them and I was curious if many don't like them. I mean do you generally think positively or negatively of them...

That might be because a lot of their failures and negative involvements have been publicized extensively.
Still it's not a question of likes or dislikes. Like danzig said, do you think the CIA does a good job or not? It's obvious that they are necessary, but do people agree with their methods, their modus operandi? There's a lot of stuff you could ask and talk about, it shouldn't be wasted with an overly simplified question.

Well intel agencies dont exactly inspire much to like about them, its like DMV here in the US a necessary "evil". Their job generally isnt one that when they are successful you hear about but when they fail its usually big news so of course you are going to hear more groaning about them. Its pretty much a thankless job so like and dislike is rather dubious. My own view is I see them negatively if only because their failures the past 10 years have been rather colossal but alot of that isnt their fault and more of suits in Washington that gutted it, handcuffed it and then politicized it. None of these things do much for an intelligence agency.

used to be one of the most important intellegence provider for the leadership in the process of decision making.

now its importance is sorta going down, especially another layer of bureaucracy is created above the CIA to coordinate the entire intelligence community.

I honestly don't have an opinion about CIA. Its existence is essential. No right or wrong about it.

Nice disguise KB. I see you under there.

We do need an intelligence service for certain. We just shouldn't cut the budget to the bone as done by Clinton.

PS: If I call you ET now, I am not calling you an alien.

Even the CIA we have now is better than nothing.

Every nation has an intelligence service, and for good reason...

No, I'm not disguising myself. I just asked Simetrical to change my name, and Raven to change my Sig. Now I'm Emperor Taizu, 1st emperor of the great Ming Dynasty.

Taizu was an incredibly ugly man.

    How about those mets?

I rather like the sig. But the picture BB posted doesn't look much like ET's picture.

The CIA needs to keep working to reform their image. Produce some accurate info. And we need to fund them adequately.
