game wont launch anymore.

I did a disc controll about a week ago and now SS cant start anymore.

what could have gone wrong?

I asked about this in the bug report section but its rather dead and might as well be removed.

I got no idea what it would be called in the english version. I didnt even controll the harddrive where SS is installed on, I controlled C and its on D.

Hmm, can you play vanilla M2? Or any of the Kingdoms campaigns?

If you can, please explain what do you mean with disc control.

That's odd. Defragging shouldn't do that. Download CCleaner and clean your registry.

I can play the game vanilla. Kingdoms at least. I already messed up the vanilla grand campaign before I installed SS.

Considering the disc controll, its the option listed above defragmentation.

Hmm, that should have absolutely no effect , especially if you only did the C drive, leaving the D drive untouched.

Did you do anything else in the meantime, something you might have overseen?

no, nothing at all. I edited some guild requirements and removed some visual upgrades of units but the game worked fine after that, I tested all of it.

I really wouldn't know... Did you try to backup your save games and re-installing Stainless Steel 6.0?

I am redownloading SS right now, I didnt back up the savegames since I wasnt too far with any of them.

I did back up the edited textfile in which I altered unit upgrades. that took me some hours.
