Never mind the species or how said species is coping, even though it's numbers are up beyond past numbers, with global warming, they have been declared endangered because of junk scientist based on regressions and time series strung out over years. Milton Freidman said it best, "never trust a forecast beyond a year." Yet here we are, dealing with statistical fools trying to get too big for their britches and crossing into the realm of statistics. This is absurd, the polar bear was put on the list of threatened species for nothing more than politics and trying to pedal man made global warming.

A new study says humans have changed the world's environment more by warming the climate than by directly encroaching on habitats.


The latest effort uses data from scores of on-site measurements noted in previous research papers. Dr. Rosenzweig and her colleagues used nearly 30,000 data sets to statistically establish that higher recorded temperatures -- on a global and continental basis -- are the result of human activity rather than any natural variation. They then statistically linked the warming trend to observed physical and biological changes, such as the faster melting of glaciers and the earlier flowering of 89 plant species in Washington, D.C.

The conclusion: In about 90% of the cases, such trends were consistent with the predicted effects of warmer climes.

I don't really give a damn about polar bears at all really. I have never seen one in my life and I don't feel like spending tens of thousands of dollars on a hybrid car to put out less Carbon Dioxide so the ice caps don't melt so the polar bears can live happily.

If humans are in fact responsible for global warming, which I do not think we are.

I won't say econometrics needs to be mandatory in highschool or early years of college but something needs to be done. What does 30k data sets even mean? How is that important?

it matters because they aren't endangered. It matters because this is an advertising ploy for the nonscience that is manmade global warming. It's ethically wrong.

Like i said, it's an advertising ploy. Then of course you open yoursef up to regulations. If an animal is protected, it has to be protected. And when global warming is the culprit? Many more avenues are opened for lawsuits, regulations and precidents that pose economic problems.

Will all these things happen purely because of the polar bear? Absolutely not, yet the polar bear has opened up a door to the wheels turning and taking more steps to preventing economic progress. Don't believe me? You know how easy it would to now make the case in most courst of law that emissions are killing the polar bear?
