Ah, first off I would just like to say BC is my favorite mod, and after a really intriguing Abbasid campaign and in the midst of a very cool Kypchak campaign I have to say there is none like it, but I'm definately going to have to give this region of the world a break after I finish with the blue horde. I'd like some reccomendations from BC players for a mod that has Europe conquerable, but also does good work with its Muslim factions.

For the record, this thread is a discussion about other mods that also do justice to the East. If it is inappropriate, my apology.

After I finish this Khwazmerian I am probably going to go to Stainless Steel. BC is the best mod out there, just going to the other one for variety. That is if I don't decide to buy World in Conflict in the meantime.

but there is nothing as far as the east is concerned like broken crescent. If you want to try something else out, I suggest PDER. It's a great mod that doesn't really get alot of attention around here.

SS is *cough* TERRIBLE *cough* for the eastern factions. KK did good work on the faction itself.. but there's nothing around it but rebels. Get EU3 and play that or something.. :s

If you're interested in RTW, Rise of Persia is a lot of fun, and it covers basically the same area, just in 560 bc or thereabouts. Had many an epic campaign with that...

Yeah ROP is awsome. But from the looks of it RS may take the RTW throne for most awsomest eastern factions ever..

Yeah I'm definitely getting ROP on this laptop once I get around to buying RTW again - my original CD is in Lebanon where an idiot friend of mine left it

And, it would be a big fat lie if I were to say ROP didn't inspire me to make BC - I imagined it would be the ROP of the medieval era.

I just popped in my Deus Lo Vult which I had a lot of fun with as Catholics and put all the Muslim countries in a custom battle. I nearly cried because of how bad they sucked.

I'm sticking to BC. SS is far too large of a download for me to make right now just for the chance that they MIGHT have semi-decent Muslim factions.

I can NOT wait for that damn map extension.

I played DLV a while ago with Egypt and had a very good campaign. But it's true that DLV is very very hard so if you like a real challenge that's it. And now with the new release it's even harder. Damn you Repman

Eh, I never said anything about the difficulty. I was referring to the Egyptian unit roster being terrible looking, atleast in comparison to BC.

may i add COMBAT MISSION... you'll still be in africa.. though instead of cavalry you have tanks instead of armoured infantry you have elite crack units... plus its pure tactics played in turns not rts spawning

If it's all about looks, my suggestion is that you get the necessary modest modding skills to get BC's graphics in another mod you're intersted in... It's quite simple, just some copy/paste and little txt edit... Well, it's a bit more, but not much.
