i havent translated the ones that are slf-explanetory,its only aversion of the map there a dosen but this is my version wich i wish to be taken, oh and OSIIIC your map is wrong thre is no walachia,and btw my map is a game map version,able to use in the game,your map has to many factions

Edit: There are rebels called Vlachs..

Edit2: Of course in map from Rumanian schoolbook there are Valachia and Transilvania. In my Latvian schoolbook are Latvian principialities of Tolowa and Gercike..

True, the game's in English. If they were creating a latin mod or whatever, I guess that would make sense to rename all the countries.

I think if things were called something completely different (for example, like if Spain was actually called "Castilla de Leon" or something on a bunch of maps during that period from different countries... then calling it "Spain" would probably be incorrect). But England is known as England during that time (although in different languages), France is France, etc, no reason to translate them to some other language and say it's for history's sake.

DLV actually names several of the kingdoms after their own language, which is not a bad idea.

It was, in fact, "el Reino de Castilla" and "el Reino de León", and since the power was in Castille, it was always said "Reino de Castilla". And today's politicians created the term "Castilla y León", as well as they created the name "Corona Catalanoaragonesa", meaning "Catalan-Aragonese Crown" for the Crown of Aragon, because we Catalans felt very marginated with this name that did no represent us. It doesn't matter that the center of the Crown of Aragon was Barcelona (NOT ZARAGOZA, as it is stablished in the game), we want to be represented by the name of our great historic moment.

Just kidding about Aragon. It was called "Corona d'Aragó" in Catalan and "Corona de Aragón" in Aragonese (different from Castillian Spanish).

And the name Spain is really incorrect. Catholic Kings were in fact Reges Hispaniarum, Kings of the Spains, because there were many Hispanias: Leon, Castille, Aragon, Barcelona, Mallorca, Valencia, Navarra, Portugal...

Which ones? I can only see Dublin at the wrong place.
And the timeframe is 12.-13. century, at least I think that's what the header says.

city of buda is way wrong, should be south westof the danube not north as it is on the map, and is int moscow littel way up?

The Kingdom of aragon and the County of Bacelona joined to form the CROWN of Aragon...not the knigdom of aragon. Also the kingdom of valencia was integrated afterwards, but each kingdom and county (barcelona, valencia and aragon) still had different languages and laws so they were never fully united

I am a recent history grad, and the first map is probably the best example of someone "researching" a topic incompletely. Second map looks much better.

well i know i only speak about spain, but its the only thing i can help about XD
i ve to say that the spanish territories occupied by the muslims cant be included in any other kigdom than themselves, i mean they were not linked with the fatmid sultanate, only with north afrika like shown in the second map
