Wrong folder, i did that at first, rs was my first mod i ever installed

Make sure it is this :

    C:/Program Files/The Creative Assembly/Rome - Total War

    Or

    C:/Program Files/Activision/Rome - Total War

Not ANY other destination or it WILL crash, because it cant read all the necessary files.

The tutorial is unplayable, this leaves you with two options:

    1) Before installing RS, start the tutorial, then quit (you don't need to actually play it through)
    2) After installing RS, edit your preferences.txt file in the preferences folder and set FIRST_TIME_PLAY to FALSE

I tried it again still don't work. and just tried to set the prefrences.

and still can't clik on the imperial campaign.

is it because I have downloaded my copi of total war?

and yes I have already bought it twice the retail version but its too scratchi. because is soo old

or is it because I install RS ind the main folder and not the BI folder?

Where did you download it from? There have been problems reported with steam copies of the game.

Did you delete the whole folder, re install to the location i put down ? if you did then it must be a corrupt file like nellup said, try Filefront its where i got mine and it works for me.

If you're using steam, you need to launch the game from the steam engine.

Right, well the discussion ends here then. If you have a pirated version, we can't help you.

    Take better care of CDs!
I've had some for 10 years and they don't have a scratch on them.

Well there's Steam, or you can get the gold edition (North America version only) which is RTW and BI together from Direct2Drive (http://www.direct2drive.com/3119/pro...ition-Download).

There are probably a couple of other places as well.

As far as I know, there have been a few problems with some mods, but they have all been resolved. The gold edition is just RTW and BI that have already been patched up to 1.5/1.6

yes just tried that. now it says script error data/descr _battle_map_ lighting_and_fog_control.txt at line 7 column 1.
    before it enters the game.

No problems with the Gold edition or with RS that's for sure, so that leaves.....the installation. I'm sure Squid knows the answer. You're not installing in either the /data or the /BI folders are you?

You need a DVD drive to use gold edition, otherwise get the original 3 disc Version.
