    Default Hypnagogic hallucinations?

Pre-sleep dreams? I've had them quite a few times, when I'm about to drop off to sleep and then I'll have a often frightening dream. One time it was of someone racing down the hallway and trying to bang the door down. Then I'll jerk awake. Another time I was at the bottom of the stairs at night, and the rest of my family was upstairs, and something was coming down the hall to "get me" and I tried running upstairs but my legs weren't working properly.

    Have you ever had one?

The topic is rather interesting. I have had very cool hypnagogic dreams, often very vivid, but never frightening. My dreams tend in general to be singularly helpful and filled with positive content.

Did you realise that most people with some kind of Hynagogia or sleep paralisys recall seeing a "dark presence" watching them or trying to get them ?

I had an OBE witnessing a "dark presence", a hole of black in my kitchen.

Let us try a honest answer.

Many people are a dark presence.

Oh, yeah? Well, recently in set theory I learned the parameterized transfinite recursion theorem. Beat that.

Um, topic. I don't really have dreams much. Never had this, don't know much about it. I think I had lucid dreams a couple of times when I was younger.

    It is Greek that's why

In internal medicine, surgery and neurology-pshychiatry(also greek words) the majority of the terms is of greek origin
Hypnagogic.....Hypnos=Sleep Ago/Agogic=Drive,conduct(agogi= action, treatment, education, lawsuit, plaint, regimen, suit also in modern Greek)

Literally means "When you are "driving" to sleep/you are about to sleep"

There have been studies in Neuroscience Institutes about this fact and "Hypnic Paralysis" also.

I will try to explain in general terms what is happening:

sleep is complicated human function still under study. It is divided to REM(rapid eye movement) phases and NREM(non REM) phases.NREM phases lasts longer and it is the "deep sleep".REM phases are short periods of sleep in which it is believed that we see dreams.

The NREM-REM phases are going in circles during our sleep. Now "Hypnagogic" hallucinations are seen when someone enters the REM phase and he is about to fell asleep.A certain background of fatigue, insomnia and other made possible for this phenomenon to happen

your bound by law to explain parameterized transfinite recursion theory.

    Transfinite recursion

Parameterized transfinite recursion is what begins "another formulation of transfinite recursion", in the third paragraph. The parameterized transfinite recursion theorem proves that an operation defined by parameterized transfinite recursion is well-defined.

I've had a few of those dreams, they are fricking frigthening..of course after wards when you wake up, you en dup laughing at yourself...

I had one with the "dark" pressence I saw my rooms door open and a completely dark black figure was standing there..and yes I thought it was going to get me, at the moment..its really really scary, even if in reality is not, the mind makes it so.

some other time I was dreaming I woke up (yes like that) and when opening my eyes a black spider the size of my head was using his spider web to come down from the roof directly into my face, and it had the same kind of "dark" presence, of course I woke up and got aways from bed, turned on the lights and tried to look around for the giant spider...the funny thing about these dreams its that even after you wake up they seem so real it takes a while to realize it was a dream.

sure they sound cool but I hate it when it happends

Sounds traumatic. Glad this didn't happen to me, I had sleep paralysis once but I never saw any dark figures or anything, to be honest I wasn't scared at all which is pretty weird, I mean it's only natural when you are in a helpless position.

The only funny thing that happens to me on a regular basis is that I wake up and I feel this sensation of falling like I just landed in my bed or something.

yeah ive had this experience now a number of times - all of it, the approaching presence, the whole bit - enough to know it for what it is when it's happening. I first heard of it called The Hag.

I once had sleep paralysis where I hallucinated someone climbing on my chest and throttling me.

I havent had a proper dream since i was 8. My imagination is pitifully ungraphic, Its not that it doesnt exist. it just gives me everything in text instead of pictures , Which is what i want.

Sleep paralysis? I guess that's a good way to describe it...

    Happens frequently.

the difference between both is , when you wake up (after hypnablablablubb..)
you think what you saw is real
and i think while you see such thinks its more scary than normal bad dreams cuz` it feels realer (i think , my hypnablablubb wasnt that scary at all so i dunno)
