Impressive work, one of the best units I've seen.
Wow, wow, wow. May I add that I love it too.
If you need any help (history), pm me I'd be happy to provide you with anything I can.
@ GERMANICUS - Good to hear from you. We're still working quite hard on this although progress is as much 5 steps forward and 4 back at times. (off topic :Saw lots of Lycaon Pictus in September. Really great evening just watching a group of males playing..moving too fast to get some good pictures but just excellent to sit and watch).
All - thanks again for the compliments.
We finally took the plunge and decided to amend the mapping on the other models. Initial mappings are now done and 'head' lighting looks a lot better. With that finally out of the way we can start to finalise the other units. Its delayed us a bit but we were redoing most textures anyway. I have to admit it was one of the things that's bugged me for so long (like that little black rectangle issue in the strat maps on the original game).
Salut! WD
Very jealous of your viewing of the Cape hunting dog, was this pack you viewed in the Delta,Botswana. Some of best and lasting memoriesI have of being a field guide in SA was follwoing a pack on move for hours just as you described.
As you may noticed I have decided to for the first time to add a banner to my sig and chose PKH to draw attention to this much anticipated mod
I honor the tacit Makanyane who though not heard I know is hard at work bringing this mod to fruition.
If I owned a proper hat I would doff in respect.
@GERMANICUS - We were up at the Kwando-Linyanti area in Botswana where we saw them. Really lucky 2 packs - one with pups. The one I mentioned was denning in the same area as the other pack (which had already had pups and all were mobile). The males playing were just great fun. Not a care in the world. Tore to bits one of the Tsetse fly traps in a tug of war game .
Thanks for the banner add for PKH. We've been working hard on it. Mak actually still prefers RTW so its been a bit hard to get her to give that up to help but she's much better/quicker at doing some of the texture overlays than I am (also has more time).
Main reason this has been so slow is just me being a bit pedantic about some of the texture bits and finding time with work to keep going (I keep using my holidays up dong the mod!).
@Kyho -Agree that the bulk of the unit should be the lower level ones. Definition of best skinned though is really just a question of what pleases the eye and what's within context for that unit. Must admit though it took a while but I was finally quite pleased with that unit (it forms the basis for several units - but then again there wasn't that much difference in costume amongst the lower classes in Britain at that time either).
when i saw those screens i nodded my head like i was listening to the bleeping IRONS!!
you guys are

Adviser: How about Church of England sire?
Henry VIII:Alright, Church of England it is then... even though I am Scottish.
Really good job on those levy spearmen, especially faces!

hows the progress coming along
Hi, it slowed down a bit as I kept getting crashes (same as at Christmas) and eventually tracked it down to some memory I bought in October. I've now replaced that so everything is stable again.Originally Posted by DragonsWarrior
We've completed the English/lowland scots units and their cards.
We're working on the highland units and the town based ones are mostly done now (just one unit left). Took a little longer due to spotting a minor problem on a couple of things (again lighting/shadowing this time on the legs).
Probably complete the town Irish ones over the next week or so. Slight debate on historical clothing again. - we decided we may just revisit them later rather than delay on that.
Also we were testing out some options around pike armed units which we're happier with now..
sounds great good to hear the computer running better now . I realy dont want this mod dead just so eager to play it. What would be your choice of faction to play as
all the best to you its good to take the time instead of rushing some stuff on
Hi, Now that the computer is back up and running the other slow down was the start of the 6 nations
Anyway we've been fiddling around with the Irish/Highland lighter units and expect to finish them and their unit cards during the week (Highland ones are done). I've also done some remapping of the heavier unit faces to stop the lighting problem we had.
sounds great lol its always the 6 nations
