    Default Chinese earthquake...thousands feared dead

Well I might disagree with our chinese posters on the forum but I hope if they have any family in China they are safe. Thousands supposely trapped atleast 7000 dead and could be a couple of thousand more on a massive 7.8 quake, including a chemical factory being badly damaged which cant be a good thing. Probably belongs in another forum but this stuff always tends to get derailed by someone so figured Id just save the hassle. Some really nasty natural disasters the past week and half, Burma of course, China today and yesterday massive tornado outbreak in Oklahoma like 20 square miles destroyed, an entire town destroyed.

I'm thankful neither Mongolians nor and Uighurs are hurt in this disaster.

Though I dislike the Chinese people and government, I shant be cruel and laugh at this. Lets all hope and pray that people are alright and that the Chinese people and Government change thier mind and let the territories which aren't thiers go.

Now if someone can bridge the logical gap between increasing average temperature and earth quakes, I will be really impressed.

    Horrible news...
We're so caught up with the elections here in Serbia that this is passing almost unnoticed... though it is the first news on every channel....
But I'm confident that the Chinese can deal with this on their own, their not a third world country and they sure don't need the likes of USAID and such using this terrible tragedy to hand out "free Tibet" leaflets alongside humanitarian help.

When you have the most densly populated period of human history events such as these tend to simply kill more people. I send my best to all those involved and hope they recieve speedy help and aid. Its at times like this when the national pride and rivalries should be put aside.

You dislike anyone non-white or the Chinese people only? As for who is hurt in this disaster (as if it mattered), you have no way of knowing.

I think he mentioned Uighurs and Mongolians specifically because that is the part of China that they are from. But, yeah, he isn't a fan of the Chinese Government or those blindly supportive of them.

I think it stems from his tribe being chased of Xinjiang. Then again, I might be wrong, I just remember him talking about it.

    Mongolians come from Sichuan???:hmmm:

I am no fan of the PRC government, quite the contrary in fact. However phrases as "I don't like the Chinese people" verge on racism.

I think he means inner Mongolia, which belongs to China, there are Mongolians currently living there.

Ugyars(whatever the spell is) are Muslims, and Turkic (not Turkish).

for whoever that person is, yo should read vestigia more often. The theory "Turkic = Turkish" is very popular among the Turks who claim their ancient territory in Central Asia. and who also claims Turkish =Turkic.

It's like saying Franks and Saxons are the same people, very funny.
