    Default factions re emerging after being destroyed?

    Do factions who are destroyed re emerge after a few years like they did in the original medieval total war? It's realy frustrating that factions like England are completely destroyed in 1203 or even sooner. Perhaps someone could make a mod for this

    ive suggested that but no one wants to because....well i don't know, maybe it is hardcoded

    They can reemerge, if the one of their original cities revolt.
    As a player you can cause this with spies, priests and assassins.
    But spontaneousely reemerge to please the player?
    I woudn't want that, If you get destroyed, it's courteous to remain destroyed.

    Nah I liked the whole "a long lost heir of the throne has re-emerged to reclaim his lands etc etc" thing of medieval total war. Makes the game a little more interesting since you wont have 3 huge super powers in the end of it.

    true but i would destroy the "long lost heir" and his armies and then 2 turns later it said "a long lost heir of the throne blablablabla" so i would destroy him once more and then two turns later "a long lost heir............." so i would kill it once more and then i would get the same bloody thing over again. How many "long lost heirs" did he have????
    And is gets annoting wen instead of appearing in their original lands sometimes they appear on the other side of my empire!!! what are they doing there??

    If that could happen, it'd also be nice to march in and claim the throne of a nation without a royal line, just because your princess was once a queen in it.

    depends on who many children the dead king havde, if hi hade 5 sons then it can be 5 rebelions, depends on who long the new kings survies to, mabey som help from the pope?

    i liked it on medieval one, where dead factions used to re emurge with a long lost heir or something. It made the game more interesting, especialy if there is only you and one or two other reasonably powerful factions left, and a previously dead faction re emerges with several full stacks

    Ya, and the best part was when they would come back with 3 quality stacks of troops that you (nor anyone in the world at that time) couldn't even produce yet. Made perfect sense. /sarcasm off It would be interesting if it happened once or twice in agame, within the realm of realism, but there's no way I would want to play whack-a-mole with ridiculous quality stack troops over and over and over. It would absolutely kill any fun in the game play.

    I'm experiencing the whack-a-heretic fun now and it's pretty BS. I understand the historical aspect, but it's retarded when you can have priests with above 5 piety fail a whacking and become a stupidly hard to kill heretic themselves. I'm playing a chivalrous campaign and am having to resort to assassins to get rid of the problem. It is not a gameplay plus, much like medieval 1 style re-emergence wouldn't be.

    I think technically it is possible. Just make the "William Wallace emerges" event for each faction. Am I right?

    I believe there was a mod floating around here that sets all factions to a "hoard" status. It's not exactly the same thing but at least there is a chance of a faction surviving via a hoard right after you kill them.

    I'm not exactly sure what it does, or how the hoard works but I know it's around here somewhere. If I had more time I'd look for you, so you're on your own until I get more time later on. :/

    I think the hording of factions that have the last setelment taken makes sence, so long as they have a leader left. If you came and took my home and I could fight back I would, why not Scotland or any others? They pulled it off well in DLV.
