Default Is there a way to make the end turn shorter?

IMO by far SS is the best mod for M2TW.
But I have one major problem.
It's the amount of time it takes for the turn to end.
I have to wait at least a minute until the AI's turn finishes, and it's very tedious.
I know SS uses a lot of scripts, but is it usual to take so long?
Is there any way to make this faster?

Just like the elephant animation, this Carthage scenario is actually in the game, it just has a small percantage factor for showing up, that's all...

Spin your chair really fast clockwise in order to speed up time.

    You're screwed then

Nar, listen to what Iustinianos said.

Although I don't use Byg III, my AI turn times are still pretty bad.

It's probably because you have Byg III mod installed. It makes the turns a lot slower. The only thing you can do is reinstall without Byg III. Check this thread for some more information.
It looks bad in the newspapers and upsets civilians at their breakfast...

    Thanks!
    That definitely was the problem.
I reinstalled the patch without Byg II and the wait only slightly slower than that of vanilla!

Hmm, I have a pretty fast rig, and with SS 6.1 (no sub mods), the end turn is pretty long. Average is over a minute, though I saw it hang on the Fatimids for three minutes before moving once. This is longer than SS 6.0. I hear that turning off campaign shadows will help. Must remember to try that.

The more scripts, the longer the the turn time, but in SS 6.1 (no mods) this should be very quick, it certainly is on my system. I have just learned a new script trick though, so will be making scripts faster for next version. But it all comes done to a balance between trying to make it harder, and not lag. Turning of shadows will make the game run faster as more than anything graphics will slow the system down.

To err is human, but to really foul things up you need a computer.

Yes, it's over a minute, and rightly so! There's alot of crap going on. Ever try other mods? Some take 5 minutes. I have 1.75gb of ram, not so much but if you have less than that appreciate that minute.

Cpu power is more important than amount of ram when it comes to eot. Also, if you got view of large areas, then turning off the "follow ai movement" might help a bit.

Did you press the space bar to make the characters move faster on the campaign map? That does it for me. The AI zips through and also keep the FOw up and not 'see all'.

I recently upgraded Motherboard and CPU - the difference in speed is like day and night.

Of course hit the spacebar, left FOW on, have a small area to see so I left show AI movement on, etc. Running a Dell XPS with a dual-core 2.2 Ghz processor (if I recall correctly). So that should be what? 4.4 Ghz processing power. SS is the first application where I've seen any slowdown. I'd like to try turning off the campaign shadows to see just what that does. I don't know what computers are up to nowadays, but I didn't think mine was old/slow enough to ahve issue yet...

I'm at work and so I can't check this, but in the interest of being pragmatic, I'll ask it here. Turning off shadows for the campaign map... is that in the default video options, or is that something that you have to go into files to change.

Also while I'm at it, how do you turn off the green arrows on the battle map? I know that's in the files somewhere, but I don't recall. Don't worry about it much, I'm sure I can do a search for the answer as well, but I really don't recall ever playing with or even seeing the option to play with the campaign shadow thing.

I think it's in advanced game or video options.

I think its the campaign AI that makes the turns slow. Those damned princesses also crap up my turns.

I have speed issues on a good rig too. It definately spoils the momentum of the game somewhat. I sometimes dread pressing end turn because of it. In fact Ive got time to go and make tea every go.
