    i've been looking for some pics related to roman equipment. i mainly posted replicas, not so much the archeological stuff, do you think it's necessary to also include the arch. stuff? if so, i'll start looking for more info...

    I don't think it is. Romani research is light years ahead on anything that has been found and collected on the Hellenistic and Hellenic sides of the equation.

    Case in point... Helmets, aka Coolus, Monteforino etc. While there have been many attempts to classify all helmets that you see by their proper name, scholars are on each other's throat, trying to decide whether a particular helmet is "Tracian", "Thracoattic" or what have you.

    This is one of the two reasons why I felt obliged to include so many primary sources. The other being that many people... make up stuff, for lack of a better term. I can only propose what I know has been found in a dig, a terracota frieze, something, anything, but it has to be there.

    Romani archaeology isn't like that. Lucky you!
