Default Why This Game drives me up the wall

OK, I'm Thrace, have destroyed Macedon, Greece are reduced to their Italian holdings and Messana, and Illyria just lost their final brain cell, and dow on me for the 2nd time, even though I've roughly 5 times as many troops???

But then in the same turn, yet again, Seleucid and Ptolemy dow on me at the same time.

I have no land borders with Seleucid, I had an ALLIANCE with Ptolemy, every port is defended, and I'm apparently stronger then both of them some how...

Even at the very start of the game, Macedonia DIDN'T dow on Greece and instead they both dow on me!!

Is the game really programmed along the lines of "1) Forget everything else, go attack the human, however pointless or illogical?"

It really makes a mockery of The realism part of RTR, when anytime your are even in sniffing distance of the aegean, everyone else dow on you....sigh

    Weekly rant over........:hmmm:

Erm, yes, I thought this was common knowledge by now. Medium campaign difficulty is a bit more reasonable, but above that and the AI thinks you are Stalin, Hitler, the Antichrist and Galactus combined.

Not much to do about it, diplomacy is hardcoded.

AI is a bit rediculous in how much they want to fight you even when it is at a strong disadvantage to them, but then again the name of this game is Rome Total WAR, not Rome Total People Only Fight You When You Want Them To Because You Want To Expand Into Their Territory But You Don't Want To Have To Ever Fight On Your Own Turf (or a simple abbreviation of RTPOFYWYWTTBYWTEITTBYDWTHTEFOYOT)
Forget the Cod this man needs a Sturgeon!

Nope. The Ptolemaic gave up their plan against me, after more than 10 stacks were destroyed in naval battles (cost me many ships though) - they still have much more, probably 20-30, but they turned east instead. It's reasonable enough
