    Default More than 100 regions

Is there any way the BC team or any other team can add more than the maximum allowed number of regions which is 100. Imagine playing a map with more than 300 regions. Now that would be an amazing experience. Think about it. Is there any scripting twitch or procedure to do this?

    Nope.

    Hardcoded.

I would hate that. Too many regions leads to a game with only siege battles and makes capturing and losing provinces unimportant.

Well cant someone change and tweak the Hardcode, iam no programer but i think it might not be so hard. Just find the number 200 and tweak it up.

A map with too many regions would feel more realistic. Captureing settlements is always fun, and shouldnt be a burden and loosing them is always important since they are the basis of a factions economy.

the maximum allowed is 199 + one sea and seige feasts would kill gameplay for most as Farnan has stated.

    Max regions are 199.

I think I may reduce overall region density in some part of the map, since it can often be a bit of a siege fest.

    EDIT: Dammit bdot!

    haha miraj....got ya....

and there is no way to change the hardcode. tampering with the .exe file would be illegal. i'm pretty sure it's not just finding the number 100 and tweaking it up....

Yes, even if some genius did find out how and change it.. they wouldn't be able to post it here. Including the .exe file in a mod is a big no no.

Hey, just out of curiosity, if somone hacked into the .exe, could they alter it as long as they didn't post it as shareware?

I have zero coding skills, and the game is plenty awesome for me already, so I will not be trying this in the least. Just curious.

Now watch some government copyright agency read this post, and then watch me get hustled into some unmarked van by men in black suits.

    lol

Anything you do on the privacy of your own computer that does not involve propogation to the public (cept child porn i guess) is generally legal I think.

Why is editing the .exe illegal when editing the other folders is not? This doesn't really make much sense to me.
Another question: Is this an international law or only a law in first world countries where gaming is huge?

@Question 1: Dont know, it IS pointless.

@Question 2: No, its the copyright law that I think is international says that the producer does decide what is allowed to do with the product.

Well the .exe file is like the game itself. CA invested money, time, effort etc. in producing a product: the game. Copyright laws protect their rights, be it the rights to sell their product or the intellectual rights they have over the product itself. That's why you can't edit the .exe. The other folders that modders are allowed to edit are like auxiliary files...I don't know how to really describe it. But CA encourages the community to work on those files, and even provides some tools to help it.

Isn't it also because when you'd change exe's and all that other hardcoded stuff, some modders could just take out everything they need and make it 'stand-alone' by including their own modded files and thus in fact stealing intellectual property?
Some day I'll actually write all the reviews I keep promising...

Pretty much what Maraud and KippyK said. Once you edit the .exe and release it.. the downloader doesn't really need to buy the actual game at all. So you're not only breaking rules against editing the .exe but also technically pirating.

This is why some more modder friendly game companies - like Half Life and Valve - release the SDK (source development kit) so that you can actually edit and change the core mechanics of the game itself and release it as an actual expansion without having to release or edit a .exe.

Are their any good mods for Half-Life? I only played the Insurgency mod and it sucks.

The first one? There was CounterStrike, Teamfortress Classic and Day of Defeat. Those are the only major ones I recall.

EDIT: Sorry, this is getting OT.

The settlement limit is 199 regions plus 1 sea.....having 199 regions would be too many on the scale of the map as is now. After a while you would get sick of everytime you march your army 5 movement tiles you're in some one else's backyard.....and no one is going to edit the .exe and I suggest convo of such stops.....the mods are always watching....

    question's been answered

Imagine if you captured half that many settlements managing them all, defending seiges... could take days to complete one turn...
