Questions. Help a brothah out.
Can anyone tell me the command to type in to give myself ownership of one of those unreachable places like Arabia? I play with the understanding that if I take the majority of the regions surrounding that big chunk of sand that I am the defacto owner. I'd like to just be able to see it under my colors on the campaign map. In history books and articles it always shows the maps declaring an Empires size with borders that reach farther than where they actually have a firm foot-hold. So I'd like to go ahead and get it, since while it isn't going to give me much money it is a sizeable peice of land that has Nomadic people living there.
BTW, I don't want it conquerable. Some places like that need to be unatainable if for nothing else but to keep the AI in line.
ALSO! I'm getting ahead of myself, but since I'll be playing as the Kypchaks in the next campaign I'd like some tips for roleplaying an actual Russian presence above me. I don't want to just absorb all of the steppe within 10 turns and then move East without a care in the world. Since Rus won't be added until later version I would like some input from the various players.

Re: Questions. Help a brothah out.
Oh, easy peasy. I'm a chronic cheataholic. Do the following:
Type: ~ (may be a different key) to bring up your console.
Type: toggle_fow
Type: show_cursorstat (move your cursor over where you want a target army to be sent, and you can even right-click the spot to show if it is wilderness or impassable)
Now, with an army of your choice (militia under a captain is fine), determine the name of the leader. If it's a captain, then it'll be "Captain -----"; if it's a general, it'll be "first_name_stuff last_name_stuff" - Like "Najm_ad_Din of_Noubarya" - and that excludes titles. Find out their real family name (look up ancestors)
Type: move_character "character name" x,y (no spaces for the coordinates you got)
(Optional) Type: character_reset "character name" if you want to reset their movement points
Send them into the settlement. The settlements are as follows for the unreachable towns:
1. Arabian Desert - Buraydah - 0 garrison - 50% Islam, 50% Heretic
2. Karakum - Karakum - 2 Turkish Infantry garrison - ~70% Islam 10% Pagan 20% Heretic?
3. Tibet - Lhasa - 0 garrison - 100% Heretic
For the Arabian Desert's Buraydah, just march in and it's instant conquest. 1000 population with no growth whatsoever, but it's 50% heresy so make sure to bring enough militia to keep 'em happy. Totally unattackable by AI. Clears your map, but having tried it, I prefered the "conquest around the rim" look - the Rub al-Khali is truly supposed to be an Empty Quarter.
Karakum takes a bit of fighting - 2 Turkish Infantry who can be a bit tough. It's total desert with a village of no wall, so plan accordingly - charge from 3 sides with heavy cavalry should do the trick.
Lhasa is 0 wall 0 garrison like Buraydah, but it's 100% heresy (Buddhism = heresy?
) and far from most capitals. Given the high unrest due to distance from capital in 1.05 (375% maximum cap!!!) plan accordingly.

Thanks a lot. I'll see if I like the look or not. The regions are drawn so well that it doesn't exactly look bad, but I don't like not having the option.

Mainly to represent a geographical "chokepoint" or "barrier" that historically existed.
Karakum is gone for good in 1.1. It shouldn't have been in 1.0 even. It was originally there to block the route between the steppe and khwarezm. But after reading of heavy Kypchak involvment in Khwarezm and the Khwarezm-Khitai wars I opened it up and forgot to delete Karakum.

Miraj, you could regroup all unreachable provinces under one single province, named "deadly desert" for exemple
... Otherwise it just takes a province slot for nothing and puts a settlement of crazy bedoins in the middle of arabia.
