    Default Unpacker!!

Ok so I try and get the patch 1.2 on my game and end up having my battle map crashed indefinately. By now I've given up on mods since I ended up completely destroying my vanilla game. Anyways I tried to just reinstall the software but it still gives me the crash in Battle maps!! If anyone can help I'd apreciate it, also I couldn't find the geography file that everyone talks about and I've deleated every old file that I could find on my computer.

Another thing is I can system restore so ya I realize I was asking for this....

You mean you system restored and it screwed up, or you can use it? Because that just doesn't make sense.

Did you delete the entire MTW2 folder when reinstalling?
    Vista or XP?

I tried to system restore but it would fail when attempting, I deleated every file I could find (even used search) and uninstalled three times with it failing. Also I'm using Vista (A sourge to me now!)

After uninstalling, delete the Sega folder before you reinstall, some files may still exist causing the crashing.

I've done everyones advice except the one to change the file. How is this done, instead of saving the install under the default you just add something like a '1' at the end and it will work?

Did you unhide all the hidden and system files and delete that folder, also? Remember you have Vista and it will bury files it thinks you are not supposed to touch.

yea just add a 1 or . or something infront of the folder you are going to install it to when you install the game and non of the hidden files that makes the game crash will affect it hopefully (it worked for me)

Ok but just to make sure; do I change the Sega file that comes before the Medieval total war folder or does it matter?

YES it's working again thanks to a change given to the folder! Well I'm turned off to Mods for a while...I'll stick with my vanilla from now on. Thank you so much!
