    Default Fog of War

    Lifted or not.??????

For me BC's just to majestic not to take a peek at what everybody else is doing. However I decided to end turn w/ fog on to see the board in action. Wrong Answer!!!!! turn around time went from 25 seconds to 4o minutes.
I mean each faction paused, held civic, federal and military conventions before initiating their turns. So my query to you guys......

FoW for it or against it?????? :hmmm:....How do you use it in your campains.:hmmm:.....

    Thanks for your time...

I play with it lifted just because I'm too lazy to put watch towers everywhere and I'm too nooby to figure out what's going on without it

Does fog of war really speed up turn times? very interesting I'll have to look into this further

If you mean that you had to see every factions turn, then just press esc, go to game options and turn off see faction turns or something like that.

Dash - nice chip in Thanks.....

Colin666 - Not real sure what you mean? With FoW turned on my end turn process time went from about 25 seconds to about 40 minutes. So ya, ending your turn with FoW off makes a Big difference.

Oh ya I forgot to mention that I've run EB with FoW on and the end turn times only average about 4-5 minutes.

I meant exactly that but I play with "follow AI turns" off so I doubt it'll make a difference on my campaigns.

I've honestly never had turn times take as long as many members on these boards....even with follow ai movements. Guess my computer is just that efficient

Friend all I can say is that's one impressive rig you've got there!
Do you have the Turbo chair with the headrest speakers and the built in keyboard slash armrest? I hear there starting at $5,000 a piece.

Anyway like I said with AI movement turns are 40 minutres compared to EB's 4-5 minutes. BC must be alot more complex than Miraj thinks..

@ Miraj - Thanks for the protip............. Master.

    lol

Are you seriously trying to tell me with a straight face that BC's AI turns are quadruple the length of EB?

If so, then I may have to kill you. I'm sorry, but I just have to.

    Yes Master ..............
Your omnipotent creation seems to smoke EB . 4X 10 = 40 Actually about ten times ... longer

Prove it. Okay I found out this while watching CBS Evening news. End turn started with the news and finished ten mintues after
    the news ended.

BC turns have never been long for me. A better question for this thread would probably be.

Do you play with Fog of War on or not? I try my best to play with it off, but I build tons of watch-towers and by the late game when I am trying to play a global manipulation game I have to turn it on every now and then to see what is going on. I'm also really interested in seeing how other countries interact with each other.

Let me speak for all the SuperChickens. Building a campaign to the gettin good stage then, gettin whomped by someguys just outta sight spam stacks well............. that really blows. So I advocate the judicial use of FoW. If you Forget and end turn with it still on
then go make a milkshake and read War & Peace cuz its gonna be awhile.......

I always play with Fog of War disabled. I don't think its too "cheaty" in my book, since when I do have it on, I always build an extreme network of watchtowers and spies, so I've never been surprised by attacking stacks.

I just enjoy watching the AI empires expand way too much to keep Fog on. There are so many variables that take place, and even though there are trends on which factions tend to succeed, every game is different.

Ya i know what you mean, in my current abbasid campaign sindh has taken over india in a big way..like 20 regions taken over while allied with the evil solankis.
and I've got to bottle feed the surrounded ottoman-turks being beaten up by the ERE
They're down to one province seperating me and the ERE!!!!!
