Need help with strange graphic problem

Hi, i used to play RTW alot about 2 years ago but stopped because my computer was too poor to run it well. Now ive got a good enough PC to play the game on I encounter a problem. The world map in campaign mode is very red and also square tiles of the map are missing, see the screenshot below. I have the latest graphics drivers installed and I also installed the added programs that came with the C.D, Windows media and Direct X??
When in battle mode the graphics seem better except from the fences around buildings being very red and a few random square holes in the map that are back to normal when i move near them.
I dont have much of a clue what the problem is except that it could be the monitor, it is a very old CRT monitor made by Time...are they even a business anymore?

P.s I have tried running the game with the 1.3 and the 1.5 patch installed, i then reinstalled the game and then tried running it without any patches.

Are you sure you have the latest graphics card drivers installed? Did you check the website for the drivers?

Yes I think I have, im using a geforce 6600Gt and I used the nVidia website to search for the latest drivers for the 6 series and i chose that one

Sure your monitor isn't on its last legs? Have you tried adjusting the color manually?

I dont think its the monitor tbh. It seems to work fine on everything else such as images, youtube videos and firefox. Plus the missing black squares hint that it isnt just the colour on the monitor.
