Help plz, how do i slow down units movement speed

i just got a brand new really powerful computer (god the game looks friggin brilliant!), i immediatly put ss on there and loaded it up and my guys are just zipping around the map, its not like anything is wrong exactly, its just such a departure from my old system my brain cant handle it, i mean the animations are so perfect, but its just too fast...also i prefer more tactical movements and the current speed doesnt allow me the kind of gameplay i would prefer

i used to do this with rome and liked those mods that did this also, but i cant find the files in m2tw folder to alter it

If you're talking about the campaign map, just press the space bar. That should make your units move at a normal speed.

battle map, its not a matter of acclimating myself to it, i just dont like the speed....i want it how it is in EB etc...men dont run at that speed...or if they do it isnt for long and you would be SEVERELY winded and tired. its too arcadey for my tastes.

anybody know the file i can alter?i remember it has like grass, snow, swamp etcand a value next to it, but i just cant find the darn file :hmmm:

descr_battle_map_movement_modifiers.txt in ss data folder... it was pretty obvious...

edit. wont let me save it, is this a vista problem that i dont know about? is there a workaround?

Yes, You need to copy the .txt to the dektop, alter it, save it, and copy back in the folder. Pretty awkward, but it's all for your own safety
