Will be an official SS6.2 release in near future?
Most of us are playing SS6.1 version after a few time of enjoying the wonderful SS6.0 official release.
In my case, I have installed both optional sub-mods provided with SS6.1 (RR and BYGIII).
I'm seeing lately in these forums some things that I consider interesting for grouping here regarding version 6.1:
a) RR has been upgraded after the release and maybe Point Blank wants to fine tunning further his awesome RR mod. In my short experience comparing 6.0 with 6.1, I have noted that my initially modest Early Era Crown of Aragon (just two not very developed cities) is capable of gather quite more money than before. I remember to struggle hard for not falling into bankruptcy and meditating about every military unit that I wish to recruit or if I can allow renting the always needed services of a tough mercenary unit. In any case I'm not sure if changes are due to recruitment costs/upkeep rates or maybe to building costs/tax dividends.
b) BYGIII suffered from an important installation bug in the delivered release that was quickly solved, overwriting just one file. I have noted a noticeable delay in the time required for passing a turn, but considering that my PC is quite good I personally can live with it. I've read that other people dislike this increasing in the machine thinking time. Maybe Byg is playing with the idea of simplify or change some delivered scripts as a compromise solution.
c) Lusted AI: I enjoy a lot more the SS6.0 AI than the older SS5.0 one.
I regard with satisfaction how the diplomatic part is less chaotic and gaining in coherence no matter if you are playing VH difficulty (as is my case) or not and the BAI is tougher than before. I agree though that alliances can be too easy to obtain and that the backstabbing probability has been severely cut down. I've read in the sub-mods forums that Lusted is again trying to improve and tune more his CAI and BAI for Stainless Steel. I'm sure that the next release will satisfy even more the majority of players.
Moreover, maybe some time in the future a XAI version for SS6.1 will be available and worth of trying.
d) Total Combat and RAJ for Stainless Steel: Chimaeira has been very busy lately with these two wonderful additions to the SS world. Currently I'm trying his SSTC pack and, until now, I'm happy with the results. My only fear is that these new animations can impact in the carefully balance obtained through the Point Blank Real Combat sub-mod.
But I personally think that SSTC will be a nice new add-on to this hypothetically SS6.2 new release.
Note that I'm only referring to already delivered sub-mods or non faction specific mods, because I'm thinking in just a real 6.2 patch just making a few changes and tweaks and not asking about a shiny new SS7.0 release, because that is another story and there are other posts in the forums asking about that.
I would like to see what are the thoughts of other players regarding those mods and if you like to see implemented different ones in a future SS6.2 release (maybe the last and final 6.0 release) if it happens in the future, of course. Only the almighty Kong will decide. Now, I suppose, he is enjoying some well deserved holidays from the Stainless Steel "burden".
