What's this about new animations??? Are there new combat and 'finishing' moves?
I"m still using 5.1, but if 6 has some new or more exciting animations....

The new animations are included with Stainless Steel Total Combat mod..check the submods forum!
But IMHO there are a LOT more good reasons to switch to 6.0, than just new battle animations..
Well, I don't know....I'm one of the few who still likes the Americas to be in game. But with the impressive screenshots of 6, I"m starting to consider installing it.
The problem is that total combat comes with real recruitment, I would only want the real combat.
I decided to have neither, having better animations is no good if you can barely train soldiers for it to do them.
I really hope that the kind of combat animations with finishing moves will find its way to more traditional rts games sometimes. It would be great to see it in age of empires style games.
as far as i know, sstc does not require real recruitment.
I'm using it that way.
I think lesterthenerd has made a submod of sstc that does without RR, lot of people like it that way. I am using RR now, but I probably do without it myself in the future. I like to mod the game to 1 turn per year and increase cost and build time of structures by a lot. That gives a long epic campaign that still doesn't have any restrictions on recruitment
