That's fairly easy, actually!
As always when editing, make a backup file of the one you're changing, in case of CTD's.
* Go to your Medieval II Total War\mods\Stainless_Steel_6\data folder
* Open the export_descr_unit.txt file
* Scroll down to the unit you want to edit
For instance, if you wanted to edit the Zweihanders it would look like this:
type Zweihander
dictionary Zweihander ; Zwei Hander
category infantry
class heavy
voice_type Heavy
banner faction main_infantry
banner holy crusade
soldier Zweihander, 48, 0, 1.2
mount_effect horse +1, camel +1
attributes sea_faring, hide_forest, hardy, can_withdraw, free_upkeep_unit
formation 1.2, 0, 2.4, 2.4, 3, square
stat_health 1, 0
stat_pri 8, 6, no, 0, 0, melee, melee_blade, slashing, sword, 25, 1
stat_pri_attr no
stat_sec 0, 0, no, 0, 0, no, melee_simple, blunt, none, 0, 1
stat_sec_attr no
stat_pri_armour 7, 5, 0, metal
stat_sec_armour 0, 0, flesh
stat_heat 7
stat_ground 1, -1, 2, 1
stat_mental 11, normal, trained
stat_charge_dist 10
stat_fire_delay 0
stat_food 60, 300
stat_cost 1, 510, 220, 90, 70, 510, 4, 170
armour_ug_levels 3, 4
armour_ug_models Zweihander, Zweihander_ug1
ownership hre
era 2 hre
recruit_priority_offset 15
The first number after Stat_pri is the attack value, the second is the charge bonus
The numbers after Stat_pri_armour is Armor Value, Defense Skill and Shield Bonus. These 3 combined are the unts total defence.
At the start of the EDU there is a handy guide to what all the different lines in an EDU entry are for.![]()
and does it really work in the game, i mean is the unit stronger or is it just visual,so does the unit get improved for real?
While I dont see how the game could crash from making a unit stronger unles when loading, can it cause troubles?
heh well I like to imbalance the game a bit actually.
I want to make a unit here and there sort of as epic as the spartans in 300, would be fun to fight against and with against great odds. Maybe with less numbers as well.
