Default Checking the Difficulty -- Help Please

    Hello All,

Is there a way to check the difficulty once I've started the game? I thought I selected VH/VH, but the game is seeming far too easy as the Egyptians. So, is there a way I can check (before I waste more hours on what might be too easy of a game)?

Most of the time I have the same problem. But it is solved since 6.0. When you start a 6.0 campaign you get a screen that gives you some information about the game including which difficulty you are playing. Another way to check it is to open the settlements details of any city except your capital and then put the mouse on the ''make this my capital'' button, there youŽll see that when you are playing h/vh(not sure about this difficulty standing) it cost 5000 florins, and about 3000 on medium. So when you make a city your capital and you lose 5000 florins you can be sure that you are playing h/vh. Hope this helps.
It looks bad in the newspapers and upsets civilians at their breakfast...

It always seems easy as Egyptians until your neighbours start getting heavy armour and your heavy units are all a few points worse than theirs.

My units are already far worse, but they never attack! I was able to take out the kingdom of Jerusalem in the first 2 turns. However, the Pope hasn't called a single crusage against me and I am even at war with him. All I want is a few crusades to keep me on my toes. Anyway to provoke one? (I already have Jerusalem).

Anyway to provoke a crusade...? Go sack and exterminate Rome with a stack...maybe that will wake up his holiness to do some butt-kicking.

having the same problem, i play on H/H and the campaign seems to be much easier then on M/M.

the campaign ai is more passive and i win battles i would never be able to win on M/M. on M/M the ai faction around me usually allied and attacked after at least 15 turns. now noone attacks me and there are nearly no alliances between the ai factions.

guess i will start a new game with VH/VH settings ... or maybe M/M again to get a more challenging game

i have it h/vh and it's perfect so far. I think it's just how things work out sometimes. Passive? Well, some being defensive aren't so bad, but the t.o. attacking whomever the player is is a problem that I haven't seen but it's the one that I belive is most important to fix. It.. kinda ruins the fantasy u know lol..
